Warning: SPOILERS for the Chucky season 1 finale.

Chucky episode 8, “An Affair to Dismember,” said goodbye to several characters but possibly also set up the return of Seed of Chucky’s Glen and Glenda. Since the Chucky TV show was first announced, countless viewers theorized who could and should show up from the wider Child’s Play universe. Many got their wishes. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Kyle (Christine Elise McCarthy), Tiffany Valentine (Jennifer Tilly), and Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) all played prominent roles alongside Chucky’s cast of new characters. Regardless, calls for Glen and Glenda to appear increased with each episode, especially after they were referenced in Chucky season 1, episode 2, "Give Me Something Good to Eat."

As Chucky season 1 rolled on, theories steadily emerged regarding just how Glen and/or Glenda could be woven into the lives of Chucky’s new friends and enemies to the end. While some thought Glen could show up to aid Jake (Zackary Arthur) against Chucky, others started to wonder if Annie Briggs’ mysterious Miss Fairchild might be Glenda or even Glen in disguise. Ultimately, none of the theories panned out by the time the credits rolled on the Chucky season 1 finale. No new information was revealed about Miss Fairchild and neither Glen nor Glenda made an appearance — at least, not an overt and direct one, that is.

Instead, the Chucky season 1 finale offered a nugget of hope in the form of a direct name-drop. As Tiffany instructed Junior (Teo Briones) to tie up Nica, she started fiddling with a range of luggage. After Junior enquired what it contained, Tiffany revealed that it was a bomb — one that had been designed and built by Glenda personally. Tiffany rapidly put it to good use, making it the centerpiece of a booby trap.  Though Andy and Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) ultimately survived the explosion more or less intact, Kyle’s season 1 fate was left up in the air. Regardless, it offered Chucky viewers their first direct mention of the killer doll’s genderfluid offspring since 2005. Equally, it clarified their status as still alive and just as much of an evil criminal mastermind as they ever were, perhaps even on par with Chucky himself.

The fact Glenda had manufactured a bomb not only denoted how far they’d come in terms of sheer intelligence and professional villainy. It also emphasized that they had at least a little personal investment in Chucky’s plan for Hackensack and America coming to fruition. As such, it lent credence to the idea that Glenda could actually show up as part of Chucky season 2's story — in order to enact brutal revenge against Jake, Devon, and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) for their part in disrupting that plot. In fact, the ending of Chucky season 1 finale may have even teased that Glenda was already in Hackensack. Based on the foreboding music playing, the gloved figure watching the surviving teens could have been them rather than Kyle.

Even if that turned out to not be the case, other parts of Chucky episode 8, “An Affair to Dismember,” had the scope to introduce Glenda. After the doll version of Tiffany took Andy Barclay captive, it was left unclear where they were ultimately going. Given that the Chucky season 1 finale established that Glenda and their mother were very much still in contact and cahoots, they could be waiting at Tiffany and Andy’s eventual destination. Glenda has always definitively been a chip off of the officially broken up Chucky and Tiffany’s deranged block. As such, they would no doubt relish the opportunity to meet and “play” with their father’s oldest friend to the end. Then again, given their clear deranged intelligence, it may have even been Glenda that personally performed Nica’s horrific surgery.

Though there was a theory that Glen would arrive to help Jake against Chucky, it didn’t come to pass—in fact, there was not one mention of Glen. As such, longtime Child’s Play viewers will have to continue wondering about their fate after their father tried to kill them. If Glen is still alive - and Glenda does emerge in Chucky season 2 - they will surely appear too. After all, where Glenda goes, their more kind-hearted and heroic counterpart is sure to follow.
