The final trailer for the upcoming Child's Play TV show, Chucky, gives a first look at returning cast members and Charles Lee Ray as a teenager. Don Mancini created Child's Play back in the late '80s, spawning one of the most iconic serial killers in the horror genre. The original Child's Play story has continued in six sequels and is now coming to the small screen to continue Mancini's vision.

Mancini first announced Chucky in 2018, around the same time Orion Pictures was working on their Child's Play reboot with Mark Hamill as the voice of the killer doll. Mancini wanted nothing to do with the reboot, and his series will pick up after the events of the 2017' direct-to-video movie Cult of Chucky. The show is bringing back Alex Vincent (Andy Barclay), Christine Elise (Kyle), Jennifer Tilly (Tiffany Valentine), and Fiona Dourif (Nica Pierce), but the series will largely focus on a new group of teenage characters. The new cast, including Zackary Arthur and Carina Battrick, has been heavily featured in the promotional material, while veteran cast members have been left a mystery.

Now, a new trailer from Syfy for Chucky provides a ton of new footage for the upcoming series. Most notably, the trailer gives a first look at the return of Andy and Kyle. The trailer also makes clear that the legend of Charles Lee Ray is prevalent in the town of Hackensack and that the show will even depict the serial killer as a teenager. The full, final trailer for Chucky can be seen below:

Previous trailers mostly focused on the coming of age story of Arthur's character as he struggles with being bullied in school. Mancini has even said before that Chucky is a metaphor for bullying in the show and that he is trying to get back to the roots of the Child's Play franchise by focusing on younger characters. While this all is a great way to refresh the franchise, there is still a lot to wrap up following the conclusion of Cult of Chucky. After the official plot synopsis came out for Chucky a few years ago, many were worried that this would be a full-on reboot, but including veteran characters in this latest trailer makes it clear that isn't the case.

Characters like Andy Barclay and Kyle are big selling points for the series for long-time fans, but the mystery surrounding Charles Lee Ray is also an exciting plot point the show looks to dig into. Previous trailers presented Ray as a child at a birthday party, while the one above showed him as an adult stabbing someone and as a teenager. Dourif hasn't been seen in Chucky's human form very often in the series, so episodes involving Charles Lee Ray's past will likely do well for Syfy and USA. Thankfully, fans don't have to wait much longer to see if Mancini can successfully adapt Child's Play to the small screen.
