SYFY's Chucky show sees the titular killer doll (and friends) return to terrorize a new generation — here's a guide to the Child's Play sequel's cast of new and returning characters. Created by Don Mancini, the supernatural slasher franchise burst onto screens with Child's Play in 1988. The movie centers on a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray (a.k.a Chucky) who possessed a doll using voodoo after being cornered and shot by police. He subsequently terrorizes Andy Barclay and those associated with him across Child's Play and two sequels.

Following Child's Play 3, the saga enjoyed a brief hiatus before pivoting hard left with Bride of Chucky. Adding more comedic elements and a self-aware tone, the fourth installment reinvigorated the franchise and heightened its cult following. Things went even further with the ultra-meta (and critically divisive) Seed of Chucky in 2004. Chucky and his franchise then took another extended break. Regardless, the movies remained very much in the public consciousness — eventually spawning more traditional horrors Curse of Chucky in 2013 and Cult of Chucky in 2017, as well as a crowd-pleasing Chucky cameo in Ready Player One.

Chucky follows on from Cult of Chucky's cliffhanger endings, which saw Chucky able to possess multiple bodies at once and outwit his foes. Positioning himself at a yard sale, the brutal action is transported to Charles Lee Ray's hometown of Hackensack, New Jersey. There, Chucky ingratiates himself in the lives of new "friends to the end" and sends his decades-spanning body count to new heights. Equally, the new show delves deeper into Chucky's serial killer origins than ever before. In the process, as well as introducing a whole town of new characters to the Child's Play world, Chucky is confirmed to feature several established allies and enemies from past installments. Here's a breakdown of all the new and returning characters that'll appear in Chucky and fuel the next Child's Play chapter.
