Despite having faded into obscurity over the last decade, The Chronicles of Narnia is one of the most successful film franchises of all time, with its three entries collectively grossing more than $1.58 billion worldwide. One of the reasons the movies were so successful in their time is that they boasted a slew of incredible actors.

Some were at the cusp of their careers when they agreed to appear in the series, while others became famous because they appeared in the franchise. Just take a look at these films. One may be surprised to discover which Chronicles of Narnia star might pop up.

Simon Pegg - Shaun Of The Dead (2004)

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost prepare to fight zombies in Shaun of the Dead

Simon Pegg voices Reepicheep in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, but he's appeared in several other comedic roles across his prolific career, including one in Edgar Wright's Shaun of the Dead.

A comedic parody of classic horror movies, the film follows Shaun (Pegg) as he attempts to fight off a zombie apocalypse while trapped in a London pub.

Eddie Izzard - Abominable (2019)

Eddie Izzard is known to Narnia fans for playing Reepicheep in Prince Caspian, but she also has another great voice role in DreamWorks Animation's underrated film Abominable.

The story follows Yi, a teenaged girl who discovers an escaped Yeti on the roof of her apartment building. After realizing the Yeti, who she names Everest, belongs to an eccentric businessman named Burnish (Izzard), she goes on an adventure across China to keep her newfound friend from being re-captured.

Georgie Henley - The Sisterhood Of Night (2014)

Georgie Henley's biggest acting stint so far (besides the cancelled Game of Thrones prequel pilot she was set to appear in) was as Lucy Pevensie in the Narnia series. However, she was also seen to take on a much darker role in the 2014 thriller, The Sisterhood of Night.

The movie stars Henley as Mary Warren, a girl who creates a "Sisterhood" with a few of her fellow classmates after being bullied by a girl named Emily. When Emily begins to spread rumors about what really goes on at the Sisterhood's meetings, the motives of everyone involved are called into question.

Anna Popplewell - Reign (2013-2017)

Anna Popplewell, who played Susan Pevensie in all three Narnia films, also had a major role in the CW period drama Reign, which aired for four seasons on the network before its series finale in 2017.

The heavily-fictionalized drama followed Mary Stuart, the Queen of Scotland, rise to power, starting from her youth to adulthood. Popplewell, who was part of the main cast for the show's first three seasons, appeared as Lola Narcisse, one of Mary's ladies-in-waiting and closest confidants.

William Moseley - The Royals (2015-2018)

Anna Popplewell wasn't the only Pevensie to let "once a King or Queen of Narnia" go to their head. William Moseley, who played Peter Pevensie in the Narnia films, also joined a show about a royal family: the E! series The Royals.

A soap-opera-style drama where there was always something strange or suspicious going on, the show starred Elizabeth Hurley as the fictional Queen Helena of England and featured Moseley as her son, Prince Liam.

James McAvoy - Arthur Christmas (2011)

James McAvoy is barely remembered as the actor for Tumnus in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, as he's become far more famous from other big roles (such as Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise). Despite it being one of his best performances, people also tend to forget his starring credit in Aardman Animation's Arthur Christmas.

The film follows Santa Claus's son Arthur (McAvoy) as he teams up with a rogue elf to return a young girl's missing Christmas gift. While it underperformed at the box office, in recent years the movie has become a cult-classic Christmas watch for its lighthearted humor and whimsical animation.

Will Poulter - Midsommar (2019)

Will Poulter, who played Eustace Scrubb in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, had a major role in the 2019 horror movie Midsommar.

The film follows a group of friends (including the dryly comedic Mark, who is played by Poulter) who are invited to a Swedish festival that occurs just once every ninety years. As the ritualistic events that unfold there become gradually more unsettling, the reality for the outsiders begins to warp.

Ben Barnes - Westworld (2016-)

The series takes place at the titular dystopian-era Wild-West amusement park, a place where guests can make their wildest dreams come true. Barnes played Logan Delos, a regular visitor whose family owns a share of the park.

Liam Neeson - Schindler's List (1993)

Liam Neeson was incredible as the voice of Aslan in The Chronicles of Narnia series, but he gave his greatest performance in the Academy-Award-winning historical drama Schindler's List.

The film follows Oskar Schindler (Neeson), a German businessman who rescued thousands of Polish-Jewish refugees from Nazi concentration camps during World War II. He would bribe officials to reroute the prisoners to his munitions factory.

Tilda Swinton - Snowpiercer (2013)

Despite technically being killed off in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, Tilda Swinton reprised her role as the White Witch in both subsequent Narnia films. Another unforgettable performance of hers was in Bong Joon-ho's sci-fi action film Snowpiercer.

The film takes place after a new Ice Age thrusts the Earth into a perpetual winter, wiping out most of humanity, with the survivors stuck living on a non-stop luxury train that circles the globe. The poorer passengers, tired of being forced to occupy the caboose, come up with a plan to fight their way to the engine room. However, to make it there, they would have to get past the train's caretaker Wilford and his second-in-command Minister Mason (Swinton).
