Christopher Lloyd is greatly remembered for portraying Emmett "Doc" Brown in the Back to the Future, but his presence on the TV and movie screen following his time in the time-traveling trilogy is nothing short of extraordinary. Lloyd made his acting debut in by playing Max Taber in 1975's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. A year later, he began his TV career with The Adams Chronicles before acquiring the long-lasting role as Reverend Jim Ignatowski in Taxi.

The actor split his time between TV and film within the first decade of his acting career. He notably appeared in titles such as Mr. Mom, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, and Cheers before he was cast as Doc Brown for 1985's Back to the Future. He reprised the role for both sequels, Back to the Future II (1989) and Back to the Future III (1990), but that didn't stop him from appearing in other projects. In those years, Lloyd also worked on Clue, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and The Dream Team.

Following the end of the Back to the Future franchise, Lloyd continued portraying Doc in the live-action segments of the Back to the Future animated series. He appeared in a number of TV movies in the 1990s before making his return to big shows in the 2000s. Lloyd notable worked on shows such as Malcolm in the Middle, The West Wing, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Chuck, Fringe, Raising Hope, and PsychThe actor's presence in the world of film was even more impressive having worked on '90s hits like The Addams Family, Dennis the Menace, Angels in the Outfield, Camp Nowhere, and Anastasia. In the decade that followed, Lloyd appeared in a number of family-friendly films and voiced characters in titles like Hey Arnold!: The Movie and The Tale of Despereaux.

More recently, Lloyd reprised his role as Doc Brown for a cameo in A Million Ways to Die in the West. That same year, he appeared in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and the short film, Doc Brown Saves the World, before following it up with titles such as Going in Style and Boundaries. In addition, the actor hasn't slowed down with his work on TV. He reunited with his Back to the Future co-star for a 2014 episode of The Michael J. Fox Show. Lloyd then worked on Granite FlatsThe Simpsons, The Big Bang Theory, 12 Monkeys, Roseanne, and A.P. Bio.

The former Back to the Future star has a number of upcoming projects, primarily on the big screen. He is set to appear in the comedy film, Welcome to Pine Grove!. Then in 2020, the actor will be found in Nobody and is currently working on Time the Fourth Dimension, Tankhouse, and Senior Moment. Of course, Back to the Future co-writer and director Robert Zemeckis has stated that he would halt any attempt of rebooting the franchise but with the current trend in Hollywood, there's always a chance for a Back to the Future 4. Lloyd has shared that he would only consider reprising his role only if the original cast and creative team returned.
