A Christmas Story Christmas contains a scene of Ralphie (Peter Billingsley) running into his old neighborhood bully, Scut Farkus (Zach Ward), but the yellow-eyed man is actually very different from when he was a kid. Ralphie breaks into Flick's Tavern in order to borrow the star on the tree inside on the night of Christmas Eve. Needless to say, Ralphie isn't great at being sneaky and creates a lot of commotion in the process, which leads to the police coming. The policeman that responds to the call though, is none other than Scut Farkus!

It takes Ralphie a bit to identify Scut while Scut's flashlight is blinding him, but the moment of realization is a terrifying one for Ralphie. With Peter Billingsley as the narrator in A Christmas Story Christmas, he goes into detail about how horrifying it is to see Farkus as they haven't talked since Ralphie beat him up when they were kids. The car ride has Ralphie freaking out, as it seems Farkus is going to get revenge on him before taking him to jail. Luckily for Ralphie though, Farkus isn't the same bully he was back then, and ironically enough, that's all because of Ralphie.

Scut Farkus A Christmas Story Christmas

While things seem to be tense in the police car through Ralphie's perspective, Scut Farkus has no intention of hurting him. In fact, he actually takes Ralphie home. Before they part ways, the original character returning in A Christmas Story Christmas explains to Ralphie that he knows he was a bully as a kid. He says that he was just trying to be tough like his old man, but the day that Ralphie beat him up really changed his point of view on life. That fight leads to Scut becoming a police officer. As Ralphie walks away, Scut gives him the star and wishes him a merry Christmas.

Scut Farkus Throwback

Though Scut Farkus appears to be a changed man in this movie, his kids seem to take after his childhood days in A Christmas Story. Scut reveals to Ralphie that his kids are the snowmobile bullies in the neighborhood, who end up harassing Ralphie's kids earlier on. The 2022 sequel of A Christmas Story brings a full circle moment with Scut's character, showing Ralphie that his past disputes with Scut shouldn't haunt him anymore. Ralphie's kids, Mark and Julie, end up embarrassing Scut's kids as payback, but just like Scut, maybe his kids will learn from their mistakes.

It's a sentimental moment in A Christmas Story Christmas when Ralphie finds out that Scut changed for the better. The two adults make amends and show peace towards each other as they go their separate ways on Christmas Eve, and it truly shows how much Scut has grown and matured since they were kids. It also helps the older Ralphie Parker understand that things aren't as bad as they were when he was a child.
