Christina Haack announced the end of HGTV's Flip Or Flop after a decade of filming with Tarek El Moussa. The former couple, who began renovating houses in 2013, originally met while working for the same real estate office. Married in 2009, the 2008 economic recession inspired Tarek to begin flipping houses for a profit; the first episode of Flip Or Flop was an instant success with viewers and has led to several spin-offs around the United States, such as Las Vegas, Chicago, Atlanta and Nashville. Despite divorcing in 2018, Christina and Tarek maintain a cordial relationship for their two children and continued to flip homes together. The two have also moved on with other partners. Christina is engaged to Joshua Hall after a two-year marriage to television presenter Ant Anstead, while Tarek is married to Selling Sunset's Heather Rae Young.

Fans of the home renovation program have predicted the show's demise for months after a dramatic showdown between Christina and Tarek leaked online. While filming Flip Or Flop season 10 during the summer of 2021, Christina signaled to Tarek that the production crew was ready to record; in a moment of pent-up aggression, the 40-year-old lost his temper and went off on his ex-wife. Allegedly calling Christina "a washed-up loser" and "crazy," Tarek couldn't help comparing the 38-year-old to Heather, saying that his new wife was "hotter and richer." The two managed to finish filming the season, which premiered last December, but it's clear that Tarek's outburst all but severed their professional relationship.

Announcing the end of the first venture that started it all, Christina revealed on Instagram that the series finale of Flip Or Flop will air on March 17. Calling the news "bittersweet," Christina admitted her disbelief that the HGTV show lasted as long as it did. "I'm filled with gratitude to have done 10 seasons of a hit show," she said. "I remember filming the pilot and thinking, 'Wouldn’t this be crazy if is this actually made it to network TV?”" Thanking the crew for making the long-running show possible, Christina also expressed gratitude to all of the HGTV viewers. "From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every one of you who have watched the show throughout the years," she wrote. "I am beyond grateful for the support."

Speaking to People after the news dropped, Christina seemed to imply that the drama with her ex-husband was a factor in the show's cancelation, remarking, "The series made it through ups and downs, and trust me it wasn't always easy." HGTV also confirmed the upcoming finale to People in a statement, saying, "Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack are long-time, fan-favorite stars on HGTV and it's true that Flip or Flop is coming to an end after an epic 10-season run as a top-rated unscripted series." While some fans may be upset, this isn't the last they'll see of Christina. Rounding out her Instagram post, Christina teased, "I'm excited to see what the next 10 years has in store and can't wait to share what I've been working on behind the scenes. Stay tuned!"

Besides upcoming new projects, Christina and Tarek are staying busy with their individual HGTV shows; Christina on the Coast finished its third season last fall, while Flipping 101 with Tarek El Moussa, which features Tarek mentoring house-flipping novices, began airing its second season in September. The exes also founded an education center, Real Estate Elevated, in 2013. Flip Or Flop may be over, but Christina and Tarek are far from done with their home renovation niche.
