Chris Pratt looks back on how he hilariously predicted his Jurassic World casting back in 2010. Pratt is perhaps one of the most in-demand actors working today and, as of last weekend, is fresh off a major streaming release with Amazon's The Tomorrow War. However, there was once a time when he was best known for playing dimwitted but lovable Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation. Pratt's turn towards Hollywood blockbusters first began with Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014, then Jurassic World in 2015.

In the Jurassic World franchise, Pratt plays Owen Grady, a dinosaur handler who knows the prehistoric creatures quite well. He later reprised the role for sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and he will be back for 2022's third and final installment, Jurassic World: Dominion. As one of the leads of the franchise, Owen is expected to be at the forefront of the conflict surrounding dinosaurs being let loose in the world, which is where things left off at the end of Fallen Kingdom. At the same time, with most plot details still kept under wraps, it remains to be seen where Dominion will find him.

Pratt recently sat down with IMDb and participated in the site's "How Well Do You Know Your IMDb Page?" series. In a throwback moment, the actor responded to whether there is truth to the story that he predicted his Jurassic World casting during a behind the scenes video for Parks and Recreation. There is, and according to Pratt, the moment was funny because he never thought it would happen in real life. He said:

"Yes, that is true. In season 2 of Parks and Recreation I am doing behind the scenes video with something called a Mini Flip. I was seventh on the call sheet which meant that from Amy down to number 6 on the call sheet they had all said, 'no, I don't want to do this,' so they let me do it. As I was doing it my phone rang and I pretended that I had gotten a text from Steven Spielberg that I was going to be in Jurassic Park 4. The bit was so funny because I was like, 'there is no way Steven Spielberg is going to cast you in Jurassic Park 4. That’s funny!' And then it turned out that it happened which is wild. I manifested it."

That was just three years before he joined the cast of Jurassic World. It's always funny when actors inadvertently predict the major roles that lie ahead for them, just as Simu Liu did with the MCU's Shang-Chi. It just goes to show that, even if it was more of a joke back then, Pratt always held some interest in appearing in a Jurassic Park movie. Then again, who wouldn't?

Making things even more special for his final Jurassic World movie is the inclusion of the original Jurassic Park trio. Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum all have substantial roles in Jurassic World: Dominion, and hopefully Pratt will get to share some screen time with them. As the movie is scheduled for release in June 2022, it'll be a while before more details arrive. In the meantime, it's nice to see how far Pratt has come on his Jurassic World journey, which apparently began far earlier than anyone realized.
