Chris Hemsworth's massive arm muscles might be necessary for Thor: Love and Thunder, but the actor's new look seems to be more fitting for another upcoming project. The actor recently wrapped up filming on his fourth solo Thor film, which reunites him with director Taika Waititi. While reprising the God of Thunder for Phase 4 of the MCU is a highlight on Hemsworth's list of upcoming releases, there is another title fans are eagerly anticipating, and it requires a physical transformation.

Hemsworth's physique has been a major focus from the early stages of his career, especially when playing the Asgardian demigod in the MCU. Like the Marvel comic book counterpart, Thor is known for his signature long blond hair and enormous muscles. Though the MCU has taken some liberties with his aesthetic, the athletic build has remained consistent until Avengers: Endgame. The 2019 installment simultaneously put Thor's appearance on display, but it wasn't for his peak fitness. Since failing to eliminate Thanos in the previous movie, Thor put a lot of the blame on himself. The guilt resulted in a lack of concern with his appearance, allowing him to transform into what fans dubbed as "Fat Thor." However, this version of Thor didn't last long.

Based on set photos from Love and Thunder, there was confirmation Thor sheds his previously gained weight to get back his extremely fit appearance commonly associated with the character. Hemsworth is dedicated to his exercise regime and has even created a fitness app called Centr focused on health and wellness. The actor has seemingly taken his workouts up a notch considering the images from Love and Thunder revealing how his arm muscles are bigger than ever before. While many will assume the biceps are solely for the MCU, the bodybuilding is also very fitting for Hemsworth's Hulk Hogan biopic. The actor will be portraying the legendary wrestler for an upcoming Netflix movie, and the muscles prove he's taking the preparation very seriously.

Hulk Hogan comments on Chris Hemsworth physical transformation

Hemsworth recently remarked on his Thor appearance, describing himself as the "fittest and strongest" he's ever been for the Thor movies. That might be true, but it's likely the massive muscle building was also integral for taking on the role of the Hulkster. The wrestler is remembered for his in-ring antics and bringing Hulkamania to life in the '80s and '90s. That said, his physical appearance was a key to his intimidating persona, specifically his biceps. Hogan, who is an executive producer and consultant for the biopic, has been keeping an eye on Hemsworth's bodybuilding progress. The former wrestler also took to social media (via Instagram) to share a picture of Hemsworth with the caption, claiming the actor "has that Hogan Pump on Jack."

There's no doubt Hogan approves of Hemsworth's preparation ahead of filming the wrestler's biopic. Despite not having a release date just yet, it's likely the Hulk Hogan movie will go into production soon now that Love and Thunder has finished filming. It will now be Hemsworth's job to maintain those massive arm gains before fully embodying Hulk Hogan in his early days. Portraying a wrestler will be new territory for the actor, but based on the physicality of his past roles, Chris Hemsworth looks game for just about anything.
