The romance between Chloe Veitch and Bryce Hirschberg on Too Hot To Handle was an interesting one because she was eight years younger than him. Did the age difference contribute to them not working out?

Even though there were 10 winners in Too Hot To Handle, Chloe might have been one of the greatest beneficiaries from the experience. Her edit highlighted her growth throughout the experience. And even though she tested the waters with three different guys, she never left the fate of each relationship in the hand of the men. After their date, she told David Birtwistle that they were better off as friends. Then, Chloe dumped Bryce after a kiss that was lacking in the sparks department. Finally, she told Kori Sampson off after he proved he was only interested in physical intimacy with multiple women. But it was Chloe's brief romance with Bryce that seemed strange from the onset.

Chloe, 21, and Bryce, 29, always looked like an awkward couple. That is a stark age difference, considering most of the contestants on the show were in the lower-to-mid 20s. It's the same age gap as a couple on another reality show. Chloe could have been wanting to find someone so badly, and when Bryce showed up, she was instantly smitten by him simply because he was the new guy. She had the same feeling when Kori entered on a boat later on in the show.

As it turns out, Bryce seems to prefer younger women. He is dating Nicole O'Brien, who is 23 years old. This was a surprising turn of events, because we never saw the two together on the show. We figured Harry and Francesca would at least try to stay together after Too Hot To Handle, as would Sharron and Rhonda. But the Bryce-Nicole relationship has been a total blindside.

In an experience like Too Hot To Handle, the age of the contestants probably isn't something that's talked about too much. The upcoming season of The Bachelorette has shown a willingness to cast men who are more than a decade younger than the lead, Clare Crawley, perhaps because they think it makes better television. The producers aren't as concerned with couples finding lasting love as they are with the personalities making good television. Too Hot To Handle clearly accomplished that. And even though there's only one couple that is still together more than a year after filming, there were more serious relationships that were formed from the show that were probably expected given the qualities of the contestants involved.
