Agents of SHIELD star Chloe Bennet sparks hopes of a crossover with Shang-Chi star Simu Liu after posting photos of the two Marvel superheroes together. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has made a very conscious push in recent years to add more diversity to its superhero characters. This helped Marvel make their first Black-led movie in 2018 with Black Panther, their first female-led movie in 2019 with Captain Marvel, and their first Asian-led movie in 2021 with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. All three proved to be major box office hits for Marvel Studios and resulted in these solo movies launching new projects.
As Marvel's movies have continued to diversify their leads, Marvel television was ahead of this curve. Agents of SHIELD starred Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson in the lead role, but the series changed over time to propel Chloe Bennet's Daisy Johnson, a.k.a. Quake, to the real lead character. The show also featured Latino superheroes with Robbie Reyes, a.k.a. Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna), and Yo-Yo Rodriguez (Natalia Cordova-Buckley). It seems there is plenty of interest in seeing Chloe Bennet's Quake again to give the MCU another Asian superhero.
The hopes of Chloe Bennet returning for an MCU crossover have been reignited after the Quake actress posted multiple photos on Twitter with Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu. The Agents of SHIELD star had fun with the photos, as she was sure to remind people that Marvel's first live-action Asian superhero is pictured here - and that it is not Simu Liu. It did not take long for fans to begin sharing their excitement of the two stars united for an undisclosed reason and begin hoping to see Quake and Shang-Chi appear together on screen at some point.

In the years since Agents of SHIELD season 7 ended, there have been countless rumors that Chloe Bennet will return as Quake. Fans hoped she would appear in Ms. Marvel and connect the show to the Inhumans, while there was also much speculation of Daisy Johnson returning in Secret Invasion. Chloe Bennet has so far repeatedly denied any reports that Quake's MCU return is in the works. However, seeing her with Simu Liu will understandably leave audiences hoping that Quake and Shang-Chi have an MCU crossover.
It would not be too difficult for a Quake and Shang-Chi team-up to occur now. Marvel Studios has already shown a willingness to use Marvel TV actors again after bringing back Charlie Cox's Daredevil, Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, and Anson Mount's Black Bolt in the last year. With Shang-Chi 2 in development, this would appear to be a great place to have Daisy Johnson show up in some capacity. For now, audiences will just have to wait and see if Chloe Bennet and Simu Liu's photos lead to an Agents of SHIELD and Shang-Chi MCU crossover - or if they are simply two friends hanging out in real life.
