Netflix's Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Full Trailer: Witches Will Rise

The witches will rise in the second trailer for Netflix's The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The TV show, based on the comic book series of the same name, will arrive on the streaming subscription provider later in October, just in time for Halloween.

Although the character of Sabrina received a TV treatment in the late 1990s with Sabrina the Teenage Witch, this new iteration of the character will explore much darker and macabre material. The Netflix show takes its cue from the comic book series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. In that story, Sabrina is way more than a cute teenager with a talking cat. Instead, Sabrina finds herself plunged into a dark world of magic where she must choose between being a normal mortal girl or being a powerful witch. While she faces that difficult decision, she must also deal with Madame Satan, who seeks revenge on Sabrina's family.

Netflix just released a new trailer for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina which shows just how dark this story is. Although the trailer begins with Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) and her boyfriend, Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch), being a sweet teenage couple, it quickly goes dark when Sabrina begins using magic. It soon becomes clear that Sabrina must choose between the world of magic and the world of mortals, which includes Harvey. This trailer also shows the first good look at Madame Satan (Michelle Gomez) that fans have seen. It does seem that Sabrina plans on embracing her witch self as the trailer shows her casting a spell with the Weird Sisters (Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen and Tati Gabrielle).

One thing the trailer also shows is a quick peek at Salem, the cat who is actually a cursed human. On Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the cat was animatronic, but a tease of the character on the Netflix series recently showed a real black cat in the role. There is still no word on if or how Salem will talk, although the feline does speak quite a bit in the comic books the show takes inspiration from.

Considering that the spookiest time of the year has arrived, it's the perfect time for this kind of series to make its debut. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina certainly offers a different version of the character, which means it might not please fans of the original series. However, the new show will give horror fans the goosebumps and thrills they crave.
