Jaz Sinclair, who plays Roz on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, advocated for her character's return to her roots in part 4. The supernatural series has generated buzz for Netflix since its premiere in 2018. It offers a darker take on the Archie comics character Sabrina than what was seen in the beloved '90s sitcom. Despite the show's largely positive reception, Netflix canceled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina in July 2020. However, the series' final 8 episode are still to come. They'll make up part 4 of the show and debut December 31.

Sinclair has been a part of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina since part 1. Her Roz Walker is Sabrina's best friend and a powerful seer. At the start of the series, Roz is an outspoken feminist and force to be reckoned with. However, part 3 marked a bit of a departure for her character, with more of a focus on cheerleading and her relationship with Harvey. This left many viewers missing the Roz they knew at the beginning of the series.

Speaking with CBR, Sinclair made it clear she felt the same way after Chilling Adventures of Sabrina part 3. In fact, it motivated her to talk with showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa:

I had a really good conversation with Roberto right before Part 4 -- maybe at the end of Part 3, I don't remember -- where I was just like 'I want these parts of Roz back. I really liked the feminist, I like this and I really want this mixed relationship to have justice because you're going to do it, we're going to do it and if you're not going to do it, that's fine too but if we're going to do it, let's make it full and beautiful and lovely...[He] totally took everything that I said to heart and that's why Roz gets so much cool stuff in Part 4 because he was so receptive to that conversation and really did everything in his power to give me a lot of juicy, fun, deep, lovely stuff. So I'm super grateful to him for hearing me.

CAOS

Fans of Roz should be relieved to hear this from Sinclair. Though Roz's behavior in part 3 wasn't completely out of character, it didn't always line up with what viewers expected from her. With part 4 Chilling Adventures of Sabrina's last, it makes sense Sinclair wanted a return to Roz's roots. This will remind audiences why they fell in love with the character in the first place and send her off on a high note.

Sinclair's story also shows the importance of higher ups listening to actors and their concerns. Though writers have authority over the characters and their decisions for good reason, they're also balancing several characters at once, especially in a show with a fairly large cast like Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Meanwhile, actors are only focused on their character, leading to a richer understanding of their personality and what makes them tick.

Additionally, any workplace runs more smoothly when people feel their concerns will be heard and taken seriously. It sounds like Sinclair's conversation with Aguirre-Sacasa was an overwhelmingly positive experience, especially since she saw changes in Roz reflected in her part 4 storylines. This should make viewers even more excited to watch the final eight episodes of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina when they debut later this month. Based on Sinclair's comments, they should serve as a satisfying farewell to Roz.
