A Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fan has shared a stunning photo of their highly accurate Sabrina Spellman cosplay. Sabrina Spellman, played by Kiernan Shipka, is the titular character of the popular Netflix series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina which began streaming back in 2018 and went on to run for four seasons. The series is a modern take on the property adapted from the Archie Comics series of the same name. Unlike the much-loved 90s TV series, Sabrina the Teenage Witch that followed Melissa Joan Hart's Sabrina, Chilling Adventures is more serious in its tone. While the earlier series was a light-hearted comedy, Netflix's Sabrina leans more towards themes of the supernatural and puts a much darker spin on the beloved character.
Though Chilling Adventures of Sabrina accrued an impressive fanbase across its relatively short run, the show was ultimately cancelled by Netflix back in 2020, meaning that the story would not progress past its fourth season. Given the dramatic climax of season 4 that saw Sabrina die during a bloodletting ritual, many were devastated at the revelation that the series would not return to potentially bring back Shipka's iconic character. However, Sabrina would not remain dead for long, as the fellow Archie Comics adaptation, Riverdale, recently welcomed the half-witch into its ranks and seemingly confirmed that there is "no death for witches".
Now, one fan has masterfully recreated one of Sabrina's classic looks in a stunning new cosplay shoot. Taking to Twitter to share the image, @luxlocosplay can be seen donning Sabrina's bright red dress, complete with its lace collar and cuffs. Her icy blonde wig is a spot-on match for Shipka's own tresses and the added elements of the horns and the flames that surround her certainly give the photo the same occult feel as the Netflix show. Shipka recently shared that she would absolutely be open to returning for more episodes of Riverdale, following her exciting cameo in the CW show's sixth season. Shipka's portrayal of the character is often held in high regard by many who believe that she is the perfect fit for this darker take on the teenage witch. The Mad Men star recently opened up about the possibility of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina ever returning, stating that there is always the potential that a reunion could happen, in some capacity, within the future.
Sabrina Spellman has certainly become a popular character within the cosplay community, given her striking looks and unique-yet-classic dress sense. It's clear that an incredible amount of attention to detail has gone into this stunning recreation, and it's likely to impress many fans of the series due to the cosplayer's unquestionable resemblance.
