As much as fans enjoyed the thrilling drama and witchcraft in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the brewing romances and couples peaked just as much interest. While fans first rallied behind Sabrina and Harvey, Sabrina's real love turned out to be someone else.
In the first season, she met Nicholas Scratch and their romance quickly blossomed until the very end. But along the way, they had some serious relationship drama. Their love story wasn't easy and their best moments aren't all hearts and butterflies. Sabrina had to put her foot down a couple of times but in the end, they made it through Hell and back.
Nick Talks About Love
In Part 1, Sabrina is still with Harvey but she messes up. She tries to resurrect Harvey's older brother and succeeds. But Harvey is forced to kill him in the end. The following day Sabrina meets with Nick. Nick talks about his views on love and it might have been an inkling to their future.
He tells Sabrina how he wished witches to give themselves to love as mortals do. Witches are "aces at passion and lust." There's a tinge of sorrow as Nick tells Sabrina how witches aren't great at true love. For anyone whose seen the show to the end can relate to this moment more.
Their First Kiss
Sabrina and Nick's relationship started to flourish in Part 2. It was clear that there were some pent up feelings between them, but it all cracked open at the Church of Night play. Sabrina steps up as her role as Lilith's understudy and Nick is in the lead as Lucifer.
As the play goes on and Lilith and Lucifer's story shifts to the cave, Sabrina and Nick get passionate with their lines. They look deeply into each other's eyes and finish things off with a kiss. Their first kiss. Their display is even shocking to the crowd. Yet everyone is enthralled by the acting and emotion, it even brings Lilith to tears.
The Sexy Lupercalia Festivities
After Nick and Sabrina's kiss in the play, things shift to the anticipated Lupercalia festivities. An awaited romantic ritual full of passion and lust. At first, Sabrina is a bit unnerved by the celebrations but takes it in full swing. Sabrina and Nick want to be paired together but know Dorcas might pull something. Hence giving Melvin $100 to wear a glamour.
The whole episode is full of Nick and Sabrina moments. In the forest, Nick tells Sabrina how special she is and that he doesn't want to mess up. They even attend the mortal Valentine's Day dance together. Things turn emotional when Sabrina is forced to kill his familiar, Amalia, and Nick tells his story of their bond.
Nick's Feelings Before Lucifer's Entrapment And After
Rewinding to when Nick saved everyone in Hell, there was a sweet moment between him and Sabrina. The gang found a way to trap Lucifer but it all goes wrong. Lucifer is more powerful. Meaning they are in peril if they can't sustain him. Nick does one of the bravest acts so far and to save Sabrina.
Nick knows the only place they can contain Lucifer is within himself. Before trapping him, Nick looks to Sabrina with tears in his eyes and tells her he loves her. Before finishing the spell. Fans' hearts broke at this scene. When Nick is saved from Hell, Sabrina kisses him awake and he can't believe that it's really her.
Nick Confronts Sabrina
Nick is back from Hell but he's no the same Nick that went in. In a dramatic and heart-wrenching scene, Nick becomes almost feral. In the forest, Nick is enraged and distraught. Sabrina tries to have him tell her what's wrong so she can fix it. Nick crushes Sabrina's heart blaming her for letting him sacrifice himself.
He goes on a rampage blaming her for everything he had gone through in Hell. He even says that he did it all for her and says she wasn't worth it. All he can see when looking at Sabrina is Lucifer. The scene was hard to get through without a few tears.
Their Breakup
No relationship is perfect. Not even Nick and Sabrina's. Their relationship gets rocky when Nick returns from Hell but is still under some control of the Dark Lord. This causes Nick to spiral and treat Sabrina poorly. After performing a ritual, Nick is saved but he doesn't see it that way.
He's wounded by the things he said and did to Sabrina. Stating it only awakened a dark part of him that was already there. While Sabrina has faith in him, he breaks up with her. Nick wants to work on himself and would only deter Sabrina from her path as Queen. Fans could feel the heartbreaking emotion between them.
Sabrina Lashes Out At Nick
While the episode following their emotional breakup really only happened two hours after the event, Nick becomes a jealous seed. Caliban is in the mortal realm and decides to help Sabrina save Roz who was turned to stone. This leads to a jaw-dropping scene between Nick ad Sabrina.
One that had fans hollering in joy for Sabrina. Nick becomes incredibly jealous when seeing her and Caliban together. Implying it wasn't long for her to move on and she didn't have to lie. Sabrina sets him straight stating she never once lied to him. While he did many times in between cheating. And that while he saved everyone, he's not innocent or martyr. Sabrina warns him to never disrespect her again.
Sabrina's Necklace From Nick
When it comes to Sabrina's main relationships, things come full circle. In Part 1, Harvey gifts Sabrina a necklace that she never took off. In Part 4, it's Nick's turn. But the meaning behind the gift had fans swooning. After returning from a couples hangout, Nick and Sabrina are as happy as can be.
As they kiss on the house steps, Nick gives her a necklace. Inside is a picture of each of them. Nick has a necklace as well. He tells Sabrina this way he'll always be able to find her. Fans know that this will later come in handy when saving Sabrina from the Void.
The V-Card
Fans who have seen Sabrina progress through the show know that she was saving her first sexual experience for someone she truly loves and not just for fun and passion like normal witches do. Sabrina's past decisions come to bite her. There's chaos in the cosmos due to there being two Sabrina's.
The only supposed solution is by merging both of them. Before so, Sabrina has something to tell Nick. She misses him and gives him the 1% chance. As "Total Eclipse of the Heart" plays, Sabrina gives herself completely to Nick. Before the merge, they share a loving kiss.
Their Ever After
Fans certainly didn't expect the outcome of the final episode of the show. There's only one way to save her friends and others from the endless Void. It's a risk that could lead to Sabrina's death but she does so anyway. In the end, Sabrina dies sacrificing herself for others.
But Nick can't live without Sabrina. The end scene is her in "The Sweet Hereafter." Nick appears and says, "I went swimming in the Sea of Sorrows." So full of pain and sadness Nick kills himself to be with Sabrina forever and ever.
