Don Mancini has shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the Chucky series posing with the two young actors who star in the show's flashbacks. Mancini has been involved with the franchise from the very beginning, creating Chucky, providing the original story for Child's Play, writing the scripts for the subsequent six films (excluding the 2019 remake), and directing the most recent three entries (Seed, Curse, and Cult of Chucky). Now, he has created the Chucky television show, which is a SyFy and USA production that is currently nearing the end of airing its 8-episode season.

In addition to following up on the events of the 2017 film Cult of Chucky, the new Chucky series explores the origin of Charles Lee Ray, following him from his childhood to the events of the first Child's Play in 1988. The series features returning franchise players Brad Dourif, Fiona Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, Alex Vincent, and Christine Elise along with newcomers Zackary Arthur, Bjorgvin Arnarson, Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Devon Sawa, and Lexa Doig. The upcoming Chucky finale is set to premiere this Tuesday, November 30.

On his Instagram, Mancini shared a behind-the-scenes image from the flashback scenes of the show. A masked Mancini poses with Blaise Crocker, who plays young Tiffany, and Fiona Dourif, who plays a pre-Chucky Charles Lee Ray, in addition to reprising her role of Nica Pierce from the previous two Chucky films. The image doesn't reveal too much about the details of the set they're working on, but it does highlight just how involved Mancini continues to be with every step of the process. Chucky has given Fiona Dourif the opportunity to show off her acting chops by playing multiple roles. However, she has been tasked with perfecting her impression of her father Brad Dourif (the voice of Chucky), which is an excitingly unique challenge for any actor, especially one of her caliber. Crocker is a more up-and-coming actress, previously only having experience in short films, but she is more than holding her own in the iconic role.

With the Chucky finale looming on the horizon, these two actors will likely have a big meaty moment coming to television screens across the world this week. Last week, the groundwork was laid for Tiffany and Chucky to split before he transfers his soul into a Good Guy doll, but their inevitable first breakup is sure to be a painful one. They will surely continue to do justice to the characters as the bloody finale brings the show to its climax.
