No matter how great a show is, there will be times where fans will be let down. However, there are those moments in an episode where everything fits and the storylines flow like the Nile River. NBC has managed to carve out some great shows over the years but lately, it's been their Chicago Series that has set the standard.

Chicago PD was a spinoff that has turned into something special for the network. As suspenseful and action-packed as PD is, there are some bad episodes thrown into the mix. Here are the 5 best & worst episodes of during Season 1, according to IMDb.

Worst: Chin Check (7.6)

We're introduced to Hank Voight's son Justin, who is just released from prison. Erin Lindsay sets up a dinner that Voight blows off. It didn't matter to Justin who had other plans anyway that included making a move on Erin. After the kidnapping, Antonio's son Diego is set to head back to school but there is one catch. His wife wants to meet the informant who helped them out.

Adam Ruzek is involved in a shooting and has to go through questioning. Jay Halsted is trying to do the best he can in a tight situation with a family who lost their child. Voight is trying to play peacemaker with a local gang leader but all he's trying to do is shakedown Voight for money.

Best: The Docks (7.9)

Ruzek looking for a suspect in Chicago PD

No matter the team, there will always be a member who just has issues with following orders. At first, it was Antonio Dawson and his disdain for Hank Voight. Then, it was Jay Halstead. With Antonio trying to get back on his feet, Halstead wants answers surrounding the mystery of Voight and Olinsky's history together as friends and partners.

On the other side of the writing is Jin. He's getting himself in a world of trouble and Voight is not the guy anyone should want to piss off. Jin is stealing documents off Voight's computer and was almost busted. What will come of this?

Worst: Thirty Balloons (7.6)

Voight gave his warning to Halsted concerning any feelings he may have for Lindsey. This is only because Justin was caught in his emotions and got jealous after watching Erin and Jay interact. The team runs across drug mules who are using balloons to keep the drugs in their body.

Ruzek, feeling guilty of his selfish antics, stops by Olinsky's house to apologize. Instead of offering some encouraging words, Olinsky tells Adam that he should choose a new position and that he's not ready for the Intelligence Unit.

Best: Stepping Stone (7.9)

Is he dirty or not? This was the question heading into the series premiere of Chicago PD. By all accounts, fans of Chicago Fire tuned in just to find out what drove Hank Voight. In the first scene, it was clear he may have been dirty all along. While Voight was targeted as the main character, we would soon meet the team that will become the infamous Intelligence Unit.

While each member is getting accustomed to one another, we're introduced to other essential characters such as Kim Burgess and Adam Ruzek. What plays out in the initial hour is bone-chilling action which ends in the kidnapping of a cop's son.

Worst: A Material Witness (7.7)

Lexi is witness to a gang shooting and the team tries to do everything in their power to make sure she doesn't have to take the stand. A civilian testifying is one thing but to be a cop's daughter and doing it is an entirely different game. The Intelligence Unit is trying to stop a gang war but stumbles across a more disturbing issue such as an older lady using kids to boost phones for the gangs.

"A Material Witness" was easily one of the Chicago PD's lesser episodes as the action is forced and the storyline just didn't fit with the intensity the season started out with.

Best: A Beautiful Friendship (8.0)

Voight in the interrogation room Chicago PD

Atwater has officially joined the Intelligence Unit as Antonio recovers from his gunshot wound. Atwater is paired with Alvin Olinsky and needless to say, that pairing was not smooth in the beginning. Erin and Annie are being blackmailed by a former friend, which puts Erin in a tight situation and forces her to go to Voight for help in the matter.

Jin is backed into a corner and before he has a chance to confide in Voight, Voight threatens him. Jin tells his father to pack up to leave town. Antonio is dealing with his wife and children leaving but the episode ends with a bang as Voight is called to a crime scene only to find Jin dead.

Worst: Now Is Always Temporary (7.7)

The introduction to one of the best recurring characters on Chicago PD, Nadia. After storming a residence where prostitution was going on, the team learns who was supposed to be there but didn't make the trip. With Nadia's help, the Intelligence Unit tracks down more people involved and Erin decides to get Nadia the help she needs to get clean and off the streets.

Meanwhile, Halstead is trying to fight his own demons. He comes face-to-face with an order issue and loses his cool resulting in a bar fight. As been the case this season, Halsted finds himself in trouble with the higher-ups.

Best: Wrong Side of the Bars (8.0)

Ever since Antonio Dawson helped Matt Casey with his Voight problem on Chicago Fire, loyal fans have waited patiently for a spinoff that features him. In just the second episode we got that and more. With a drug kingpin holding Antonio's son hostage, Chicago PD was introduced as a show with no boundaries.

The action was great but it was the raw emotion that was displayed that fans gravitated to. Six more seasons and that emotion has not left despite characters coming and going. Easily one of the best episodes ever.

Worst: The Price We Pay (7.7)

Justin finds himself in more trouble, which results in him reaching out to Erin instead of Voight. But Erin understands how sensitive the nature of their relationship is and tells Voight anyway. With Voight seemingly in control of the issue, he now must deal with a hostile takeover within his own Unit.

Internal Affairs is hell-bent on taking Voight down but they need help. So, they grab the one person who is willing to do it -Antonio. If he can do this, Antonio will take over as head of the Intelligence Unit.

Best: 8:30 PM (8.1)

A bomb was set to go off at a specific time and an error was made. With a section of the hospital in pieces due to the explosion, the Intelligence Unit is racing to find who's responsible for such a terrible explosion. While the search is on, members of Chicago Fire are sitting by the bedside of one of their own as she recovers for injuries.

With the FBI involved, Voight and his team are interviewing leads before another bomb can go off. The action in "8:30 PM" was intense and left fans on the edge of their seats their entire time.
