Things are about to get more difficult for Firehouse 51's main couple as the Chicago Fire season 11 trailer teases big changes for Severide and Kidd ahead. After getting married at the end of Chicago Fire season 10, Severide and Kidd were excited to start a brand-new chapter in their relationship. Little did they know that major hurdles were in store for them as they navigated the first year of being married. Sadly, even after a couple of near-death experiences, things might get worse for them moving forward.

NBC (via TVPromos) releases a new Chicago Fire season 11 trailer teases big changes for Severide and Kidd ahead of its outing this week.

The Chicago Fire episode being titled "How Does It End?" definitely adds to the mystery of what's next for Severide and Kidd. From the looks of it, Kidd is having a difficult time settling back into the job following her near-death experience on a rescue mission that went awry. However, this time, instead of being worried about herself, she is more concerned about her husband.

Could Chicago Fire Really Split Up Severide & Kidd?

After tying the knot in the season 10 finale, the pair started their married life on a dangerous note when they were ambushed during their honeymoon. Couple that with Kidd's latest work mishap, and it's safe to say that their year hasn't been going great. However, considering how other Chicago Fire couples suffered worse fates, including break-ups and deaths, Kidd and Severide should be thrilled they are still standing strong. If anything, that's also an indication that the chances of them getting split up are very low.

That being said, it doesn't mean Firehouse 51's main love line is safe from any big shifts moving forward in Chicago Fire. In fact, co-showrunner Andrea Newman has previously teased the pair will have troubles ahead. That could mean either Kidd or Severide moving to a different precinct, at the very least. This would mean some separation between them and effectively resolve Kidd's issues about their dangerous jobs. If this is the case, however, it will likely not be permanent, with the couple eventually reuniting under Chief Boden's house.

It seems like Kidd is suffering from PTSD following a series of dangerous encounters. Having been part of Firehouse 51 for years now, she has always known the risks that come with the work they do, and yet, this is the first time it seems to really impact her decision-making. Assuming this is really what Chicago Fire is leading to, it will be interesting to see how they plan on tackling it when it comes to her relationship with Severide and her work. Whatever the case may be, this is a great way to move her and her husband's story forward without constantly taunting viewers with fake-out deaths. Perhaps NBC even throws in an unplanned pregnancy arc for Severide and Kidd to really get the couple's storyline more intriguing.
