The Russo Brothers have posted a video showing Tom Holland joking about robbing a bank with his superhero powers and compared it to his new role in their movie Cherry. Holland, who played Spider-Man in Russo Brothers-directed movies Captain America: Civil War and both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, plays Nico Walker, an Army Medic with PTSD who turns to bank robbery to fund his opioid addiction in the upcoming crime drama.

Joe and Antony Russo are among the most successful movie directors of all time, having helmed some of the biggest movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They got their start as TV directors, famously directing the paintball episodes of Community, and quickly made their mark on the MCU with 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier. They then directed the next Captain America movie and the final two Avengers films, helping to launch Holland's successful run as Spider-Man. Cherry will be their first directing effort post Endgame and adapts Walker's semi-autobiographical book of the same name. In addition to Holland, the cast includes Ciara Bravo, Bill Skarsgard, Michael Gandolfini, and Thomas Lennon.

The Russo Brothers posted a hilarious video from Holland's time promoting Spider-Man: Far From Home, where he jokes that if he had superpowers, he would use them to rob banks. He quickly backtracks, saying that he wouldn't actually do it. The footage from the interview then abruptly cuts to the promo shot of Holland in Cherry robbing a bank. It's a fun and smart piece of marketing for the movie without revealing anything new and can be seen below.

The new video comes in the wake of a recent image from Cherry released by the directors, which revealed that they're buried in post-production on the drama. While little else has been revealed, the book's story can at least provide some insight into the type of role that Holland will be playing, and it's a far cry from his role as Peter Parker in the MCU.

Holland has made a name for himself playing the charming teen superhero, but in Cherry, he will play a deeply wounded man struggling with addiction. The movie sounds like it will be a combination of bleak realism with some more surreal elements thrown in if it sticks to the formula laid out by the real Walker, who is currently serving time in federal prison for his crimes. This marks Holland's second recent foray into more adult drama territory, after the release of the trailer for The Devil All The Time last week.

With this being the second tease of the movie in the past week, expect more information about Cherry, including hopefully new images or even some footage, to be released soon. Judging by the Russo Brothers' recent activity, it seems like marketing is about to start ramping up. If the movie is released on Netflix, there might also be a release date announcement included.
