Tom Holland has confirmed that the Cherry movie trailer for his upcoming film will be released tomorrow. Holland stars as the titular character, a PTSD-laden veteran who begins robbing banks to pay for his opioid addiction. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Nico Walker. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the directing duo optioned the rights for the film while Walker was behind bars.

Cherry will premiere on Apple TV+ in March after a limited theatrical run. The movie is said to be two and a half hours long, which will be more than enough time to show off Cherry's episodic format. Cherry will follow Holland's character through several phases of his life, including his time as a student, a soldier, an addict, and a criminal. Now, Holland is saying fans will get a glimpse of that tomorrow.

Holland posted a Cherry motion poster on his Instagram confirming the trailer will be released some time tomorrow, January 14. A specific time was not given. Holland also posted a series of new photos highlighting his character. The photos follow the pattern of Cherry character images released in December, highlighting the different facets of Cherry's life.

Tom Holland Confirms Cherry Movie Trailer Releases Jan 14

Cherry will be the first of Holland's films to come out in 2021 in what is going to be a big year for the young actor. In addition to Cherry, Holland also stars in Chaos Walking with Daisy Ridley, the video game adaptation Uncharted, and the untitled  Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 set to hit theaters at the end of the year. Spider-Man 3's outsized cast will either make or break the movie and while the other films Holland is involved in this year are ensemble productions, Cherry seems to be all about Holland.

Early buzz has indicated that Apple is gearing up for an awards season run for Cherry, likely pending critical response. That run would likely see Holland at the forefront of the campaign if his performance lives up to expectations. The film will surely allow Holland to show off sides of him not yet seen in previous roles. It will also give the Russo brothers a chance to show off what their post-Marvel career could look like after directing several films for the mega-franchise. Cherry is a welcome change of pace for both Holland and the Russos and the Cherry movie trailer will give a first glimpse into what that could look like.
