Tom Holland sports some drastically different looks in six new Cherry posters charting his character's arc. Holland rose to fame when he was cast as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, in the MCU. He'll don the webshooters once again next year in Spider-Man 3, but before then, he'll be seen in a far different project. Directed by Avengers: Endgame helmers Joe and Anthony Russo, Holland will make a play for awards gold with Cherry. The gritty drama is based on the novel by Nico Walker and is slated for a streaming release on Apple TV+ in March.

Holland stars as the titular character in Cherry, a PTSD-riddled army vet who returns home and finds himself in the throes of an opioid addition. To stay afloat, he turns to robbing banks. Though fans have yet to see a trailer for Cherry, it is very clear that this is a completely different role for the normally bright-eyed Holland, who already took a turn towards more dramatic roles with Netflix's The Devil All the Time. Ahead of Cherry's debut in a few months, the promotional campaign has begun to kick up in earnest.

Earlier this week, a slew of character posters for Cherry were spotted in New York City, but only now have they been released officially courtesy of Holland. The actor shared all six posters on social media, and they're far more impactful when viewed all together. Each one charts a stage in Cherry's life, starting from his idealistic beginnings as a student all the way to his hardened future as a thief. Check out the posters in Holland's post down below.

When strung together like they are in Holland's post, the posters actually show the growing darkness that surrounds Cherry. By the time he reaches "thief" status, he's practically on a black background. Cherry has already been hyped as multiple movies in one, and this visualization of Holland's arc in the film reinforces that fact. Cherry will go on quite the journey, and it's one that could be covered in numerous different chapters.

These posters are a huge step up from the first bit of promotion Cherry received, which was a misprinted poster that became the target of much ridicule online. Cherry has already begun to move forward from that by putting the focus firmly on the movie, Holland's performance, and the awards campaign Apple intends to kick off. For fans of Holland, Cherry will surely be a must see, though it will likely be jarring at first to see him take on a far darker role than he ever has before.
