With the massive success of Cheer season 2 on Netflix, fans are already looking forward to finding out when the next National Cheerleading Championship in Daytona Beach will take place in 2022 - which will likely be featured on Cheer season 3. Ever since Netflix premiered Cheer season 1, the series made it clear that the Navarro College cheerleading team coached by Monica Aldama was the group to beat at the Daytona Nationals.

On Cheer season 2, Navarro's rival team at the Trinity Valley Community College was introduced and cheerleaders from both schools received similar amounts of screentime. The backstory from TVCC coach Vontae Johnson was also heavily explored on the show as it pertained to his past experiences in sports and coaching abilities in cheer. In season 1, Navarro won the Nationals in Daytona. In season 2, however, Trinity Valley took home the trophy.

After two fantastic seasons on Netflix, viewers have seen both Navarro and Trinity Valley winning Daytona on Cheer. The streaming service has yet to officially renew Cheer season 3, but judging by how popular the past two seasons have been, it is a given that this third season will be greenlit in the near future. According to Varsity Brands, the next National Cheerleading Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida will take place between April 6 and 10, 2022. The Preliminary Competition for Cheer Divisions will take place on Thursday, April 7. Meanwhile, the Final Competition for Cheer Divisions will happen on Friday, April 8.

As it is the tradition, the National Cheerleading Championship will be held at the Bandshell and Ocean Center in Daytona. The general registration deadlines for these 2022 Daytona Nationals are between January and March of 2022. Lots of preparation goes into the Daytona Nationals, which was showcased on Cheer seasons 1 and 2. As of January 2022, one can be certain that Navarro, Trinity Valley, and other schools are now in full preparation mode to compete in the 2022 Daytona Nationals in April. Alas, a lot of the Cheer season 1 fan-favorites have now graduated from college and will likely not compete in the Nationals, so fans should be mindful of that.

Fans are still recovering from the emotional roller-coaster of Cheer season 2, but many viewers are already looking forward to the inevitable third season of the show. New cast members such as Navarro cheerleader Maddy Brum and Trinity Valley star De'Vonte Johnson will likely be back on Cheer season 3, so they will hopefully stand out on the show once again. Nonetheless, Netflix is usually very private about the renewal of its reality shows and doesn't share a lot of information regarding production and filming, so fans will likely have to wait a bit to hear more recent updates regarding Cheer.
