Madeleine Mantock, who starred as Macy Vaughn on the Charmed reboot, will not be returning for season 4. The original Charmed ran on the WB network for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006 and was popular for being one of the first supernatural drama shows. It led to a reboot show of the same name that premiered in 2018 on The CW. Like the original series, it focuses on a trio of sisters with magical powers played by Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock, and Sarah Jeffery. The show is now in its third season, which will conclude with the season finale on July 23. The series was renewed for a fourth season, but one of the main cast members will not be returning.
Per TVLine, Mantock has exited the series ahead of season 4. Mantock, who has played eldest sister Macy Vaughn since the start of the series, will make her final appearance on the show in the season 3 finale. Read Mantock's statement about her exit below:
Playing Macy on Charmed for the last three seasons has been an immense privilege and I have so enjoyed working with our fantastic producers, creatives, cast and crew. I’m incredibly grateful to The CW and CBS Studios for my time on the show and for being a brilliant support in my difficult decision to leave. Huge thanks to our fans who can look forward to, what I know will be, a spectacular fourth season.

We can’t thank Madeleine enough for her incredible and inspiring work on Charmed. We will miss her as much as the fans will, but we also respect her decision to move on. This is a difficult time in the world, and everyone has to follow their heart. We wish her well, and the door is always open for a return visit from Macy…one way or another!
Interestingly, Mantock's exit brings quite a similarity to the original series. Shannon Doherty, who played the eldest sister Prue Halliwell on the original Charmed, also exited the series before its fourth season. The WB series killed Doherty's character and introduced their long-lost sister Paige (Rose McGowan).
This raises the question of how the show will address Mantock's absence. It seems like Prue's fate in the original show could be the same for Macy's based on the season 3 finale's longline, which reads, "When an encounter with the Whispering Evil leaves Macy on the brink of death, Mel and Maggie cast an ancient spell sending the Charmed Ones off on a series of epic adventures. Meanwhile, realizing only a Whitelighter can save Macy, Harry asks Jordan and Celeste to help him do the unthinkable.” Fans will have to wait and see in the season 3 finale or when season 4 premieres in 2022.
