The Charmed reboot has received mixed reviews since it premiered in 2018, with many lamenting that it's not as solid as the original. Despite the criticism, that hasn't stopped people from weighing in on who the best Charmed One is. Like the original, there are three Charmed Ones -- there's the telekinetic scientist Macy, the feisty time witch Mel, and the soulful empath Maggie.

Each of the sisters have distinct personalities and powers that make them unique, but there's one sister who's the best witch of them all.

Macy: Her Use Of Science To Save The Day

A scientist by trade, Macy is able to bring her knowledge of chemistry and analytics to help get rid of demons. In the show's first season, Macy tests demon blood, ectoplasm, and other substances in her lab at work. This not only allows for the Charmed Ones to triumph over evil, but it also shows Macy solving problems in a more unique way than even the original Charmed. Additionally, she's able to use her background to help herself and Abigael escape from a cage and help Mel save Jordan in season two.

Mel: Her Anger

Though Mel soon finds out that her powers -- initially the ability to freeze time -- only works when she's not angry, it is her anger that compels her to save the day. She is a woman who sees the world as it is, full of injustice, and she always strives to do her part to face that head-on.

Mel's anger is also what allows the group to get rid of the spirit presenting to be their mother and also what helps the other sisters and Harry realize that Charity couldn't be trusted.

Macy: Her Strength To Fight Against Her Demon Side

Charmed Macy

When Macy finds out she's got demon blood inside her and as such the capability to go to the dark side, she fights it every step of the way. She tries to get the help of the necromancer, Knansie, who brought her back to life, and even after discovering that Knansie wasn't on the level, Macy persists.

She asks her boss (who is the mother of Maggie's boyfriend, Parker) for help removing the darkness inside of her. Macy's persistence makes her a formidable witch to contend with.

Mel: Her Mothering Nature

Like Prue of the original Charmed, Mel is the strong-willed sister who will do anything to protect her loved ones. While this makes her a powerful witch, it also leads to moments of tension between Mel and her sister, Maggie. However, Mel's loyalty and willpower get them through tough situations; like when Mel recognized that Macy could not handle the power of the Source on her own. Additionally, Mel's motherly nature also allows her to bond with Harry after weeks of distrust.

Macy: Her Naivete

Though Macy is the oldest of the trio, her personality is more like Piper of the original show. She is introverted, practical, and analytical. Part of what makes Macy a great character is that she's not ashamed of who she is and what she wants out of life.

Her analytical nature is what helps to develop a plan of attack or escape on many occasions, like when she and Harry are trapped in her favorite television show, or when she helps to hatch a plan to save Harry at Julian's fundraiser in season two.

Mel: Her Love For Magic

Charmed Mel

Mel's love of being a witch and desire to continue to be magical is similar to Paige of the original show. In the middle of the first season, she drops out of school to learn more about her craft, something that proves useful in the second season when the witches have their powers stripped.

Because she spent time studying the Book of Shadows, she is able to remember several spells and potions to help the sisters when they need it most. Additionally, she is able to save people with her abilities, something that she is visibly proud of.

Macy:  Her Evolution On The Show This Far

Of all the characters on the show, Macy has evolved the most. She went from being an introverted only child who kept her emotions to herself, to a woman who is still an introvert but one who isn't afraid to be honest with the sisters and, eventually, with Harry. Additionally, where she had once been afraid to love someone because she didn't want to open up (and because she felt slightly ashamed to be a virgin), she eventually confesses her feelings to Harry towards the end of season two.

Mel: Her Unapologetic Nature

Of all the sisters, Mel is the most comfortable in her own skin. She knows exactly who she is -- an outspoken, smart feminist and a proud lesbian.

As such, she's able to stand up for herself, her sisters, and Harry on several occasions like when she uses her powers in public to get the attention of the Elders or when she gives Jada an ultimatum after weeks of being in the dark about the Sarcana. Additionally, she is able to go toe to toe with Abigael whenever she tries to throw shade at the sisters.

Macy: Her Powers

Like Prue Halliwell before her, Macy's ability of telekinesis makes her a powerful witch. Because of Macy's demonic side, however, she also has the ability to control fire. Both powers make her a strong woman who is more than capable of taking down a foe on her own, like when she killed Alastair Caine. Her powers are so strong, in fact, that she's able to rip a containment cube out of the ground and hurl it through a portal into the command center after she, Maggie, and Jordan discover Harry is locked inside.

Mel: Her Powers

Mel's power of freezing time and eventual molecule manipulation echoes Piper Halliwell's, but Mel is able to control her powers a lot quicker than Piper. Her power was able to save several people, such as Jordan and her father, Ray. She is also an accomplished potion maker, having spent a lot of time reviewing the Book of Shadows. Her potion-making has helped her save the day on a number of occasions, like when Harry had to play poker against a demon or when they had to rescue a witch from a horde of demons.
