All has been quiet on the Tom Cruise future project front lately, however have no fear! We finally have an update!
Charlize Theron is "in negotiations" to join Tom in The Tourist, an espionage thriller that we told you about way back in August. According to Variety:
"Theron will play a female Interpol agent who uses an American tourist in an attempt to flush out an elusive criminal with whom she once had an affair."There's no word on who little Tom will play yet, but I'd place my money on the American Tourist. However, that's just me playing it safe - he could be the "elusive criminal", but because this is a Tom Cruise vehicle I'd say my money is safe. Maybe.
The script was originally penned by Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park), but Christopher McQuarrie who helped script Cruise's latest Valkyrie is doing a polish.
The Bharat Nalluri directed remake of the 2005 French film Anthony Zimmer is due to start shooting in March.
Meanwhile Cruise can next be seen the the WWII thriller Valkyrie which opens on December 26, while Theron will be seen in the adaptation of Cormac Mc Carthy's The Road which has been delayed until some date in 2009.
