Most people don't think of the lovable characters of Charles M. Schulz in a post apocalyptic world, but an amazing new cosplay takes Good Ol' Charlie Brown and turns him into a cyborg killing blockhead.

Weapon Brown is a comic series created by Jason Yungbluth and published by Death Ray Graphics. It imagines a post-apocalyptic world populated by adult Peanuts characters, such as Lucy, Linus, and Snoopy. The series mainly follows the character of Weapon Brown, an adult version of Charlie Brown, as he makes his way through a land devastated by war in which the children he once knew are now killers, mad scientists, and drug addicts. The more adult style of the series is in direct contrast with the cartoonish and innocent style of the famous Peanuts comic strip and animation originally created by Schulz in 1950.

Displayed on his Instagram account, the cosplay gives fans an awesome look at the Weapon Brown world, complete with Charlie Brown's iconic shirt, his cybernetic arm, and a myriad of weaponry that helps bring this deadly Peanuts character to life. @beginngergeek, whose real name is Johnathon, debuted this epic cosplay at the most recent New York Comic-Con.

Charlie Brown Is The Latest Children's Cartoon To Get An Adult Twist

An additional photo can be seen on the Instagram account of Grace and Shine Photography. A New York-based photography company that specializes in fashion and cosplay, their photo gives the best look yet at the striking Weapon Brown cosplay. Perhaps the most amusing detail seen in this angle is the football, an obvious nod to Charlie Brown's never ending quest to kick the ball when presented to him by his sometimes nemesis and sometimes therapist, Lucy. Of course in the world of Weapon Brown, it was the scientist Lucy who turned the titular character into a killing machine in the first place.

Charlie Brown is not the only children's cartoon to ever receive the adult treatment. In 2016 DC Comics reintroduced several reimagined Hannah-Barbara characters, with more adult themes, and most notably among them was Scooby-Doo. Much like Weapon Brown, Daphne, Fred, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby found themselves trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic nightmare on their own. There is a shown appeal in seeing well-known cartoons of fans' youth transformed into hardened adults and that is true for both Scooby-Doo and Charlie Brown.

Perhaps because fans themselves are now grown, there is a feeling of recognition in seeing these once carefree characters having to deal with high stakes adult situations, in an allegory for one's own transformation from the innocence of childhood to adulthood. Or, perhaps they just look really cool. Either way this newest cosplay is a truly genius look that hits all the right notes for fans of Charlie Brown and the apocalypse.
