Yakuza: Like A Dragon is a major change for the series overall. Players are learning how to cope with the new challenges while enjoying the same goofy fun that comprised the previous titles. The game’s transition into a full-blown RPG has been a smooth one that is letting players expand upon their combat and problem-solving skills.

The best way to maximize success in Like A Dragon is to learn to perfect the skills and strengths of each character under the player’s control. Players can experiment with classes in order to build the strongest possible team that can overcome any obstacle. This time around, classes are referred to as “Jobs”. Here’s everything players need to know about changing jobs in Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

Changing Jobs in Yakuza: Like a Dragon

To start, players can pick jobs at the employment center. This isn’t something that they are able to do right when the game begins but will be unlocked after some time. Unlike finding certain collectibles, it is nearly impossible to miss an opportunity to change jobs, so players shouldn’t worry too much about rushing into the process. The ability to change jobs comes during Chapter 5: The Liumang Man. These five chapters are pretty simple to complete and are simply meant to get the player fully acclimated with the jobs that were preassigned.

When players get to Chapter 5, they will reach a section of the story in which Ichiban Kasuga and his friends are introduced to Hello Work. Hello Work is designed to place people into jobs that best suit their skills. Players will be given a prompt to return to Hello Work during the main quest. Upon returning, the player will be given the option to switch jobs. Doing so can round out a player’s team so that there are few holes when it comes to having a character for every situation.

Keep in mind that every character has at least one special job that is exclusive only to them. There are also a handful of gender-based differences between a number of jobs. In this way, not every character will have an equal opportunity to gain the most from every job. Players will need to carefully select which characters they want to assign to each job so that they can be the most effective out in the world. Jobs on offer will give players a quick overview of what each class entails. Players should carefully read through the descriptions of each job because changing jobs will have major effects on the character assigned. Certain items and weapons are also locked onto specific classes, so characters may become locked out of their items if the player changes their job without checking first.
