On July 6, CBS premieres the new reality competition show, The Challenge: USA, and in a sneak peek of the first three minutes of the show, host TJ Lavin revealed the format and rules for the series. The show features some of the fiercest and most legendary players from Survivor, Big Brother, The Amazing Race and Love IslandFor years, The Challenge on MTV featured unique themes and gameplay that changed season-to-season. Some seasons saw challengers competing solo while in others they were paired up with a partner, for example, and there have been many different ways that the game gets played each season. But The Challenge: USA is a different beast.

The winner of The Challenge: USA will earn the $500,000 grand prize and the title of Challenge Champion. In addition to the prize money, the victorious competitors from seasons across the world will be vying for a spot on first-ever international, global Challenge tournament which will stream exclusively on Paramount+. The show follows in the footsteps of the original MTV show, The Challenge, which debuted in 1998 and is the longest running reality series in television history. Its original title was Road Rules: All Stars and then Real World/Road Rules Challenge. The Challenge has since expanded to include cast members from other reality shows.

In a sneak peek of the first three minutes of The Challenge: USA, the contestants stand in a group as TJ explains the format and rules of the show to them. In the MTV channel's YouTube clip, TJ begins by saying, "Welcome to The Challenge: USA," which is met by prolonged cheers from the players. He warns the contestants that although they have played difficult games in the past, "This is The Challenge. We're built different here. You will be faced with challenges and eliminations that are harder than anything that you've ever done before."

TJ then explains the format of The Challenge: USA, saying that to start off he will give each of the contestants "a little seed money" in their personal Challenge accounts. Everyone starts with $1,000. However, that is not enough money to make it to the final, which is the ultimate goal. In order to qualify for the final, the The Challenge: USA contestants need $5,000 in their personal Challenge accounts. There are two ways that the players can earn the money—they can either win a challenge or win an elimination. TJ then sends the competitors into the house to catch up with each other and get to know people whom they have not met yet.

The Challenge: USA is a reality competition television fan's dream, as it brings together legendary players from their favorite shows to see how they measure up against each other. This show will be unlike anything the players have experienced before. It is sure to be an exciting and intense summer with The Challenge: USA.
