The Challenge: War of the Worlds stars Tori Deal and Jordan Wiseley are engaged, and after she showed off her ring on Instagram, she immediately got trolls criticizing the size of the diamond. Tori decided to go back to social media to call out the critics for shaming her "simple" engagement ring.
Tori premiered on MTV's The Challenge - XXX: Dirty 30 in 2017 and went on to win four of the challenges, taking home $15,000 in prizes. She is known to be a feisty competitor who isn't afraid of speaking her mind, often getting in yelling matches with some of the other competitors in the house. She became a regular on the series, coming back for the next 3 seasons and then appearing on season 2 and 3 of The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars. She had a messy run on The Challenge: Final Reckoning when she started the show with her then-boyfriend, Derrick Henry, but after his early elimination - Tori ended up cheating on him with The Challenge champion and now-fiance Jordan, which obviously didn't fare well with Derrick. However, Tori and Jordan have been inseparable ever since.
The happy couple has known each other as far back as 2017 when they first met while both filming XXX: Dirty 30. The Challenge alumni Jordan and Tori moved in together back in 2018 and then got engaged in August. The proposal actually took place during the filming of The Challenge: War of the Worlds, which is on the next season, set to premiere on August 28 on MTV. Tori posted a picture of her engagement ring, which she describes as "a simple half carat on a gold band," and goes on to gush over her engagement ring, saying it's "so relaxed, so simple, so classy, and I love that." She then explained that after she had posted the picture of her engagement ring on her Instagram, many fans were criticizing the size of the diamond ring.
She recently went back to Instagram to post a video of what she thinks of these followers, saying (via: Us), she wanted to share her "thoughts on society’s standards on engagement rings." She went on to talk about the people who have been complaining about her ring, saying, "I’m getting some comments from people like, ‘Where’s the umph? Where’s the bigger diamond? Doesn’t he have money?" The reality TV star went on to say how "f*cking ridiulous" it is that her followers would suggest she needed a bigger ring. She then said, "I need that money in my bank account... We’re trying to work on a family. We’re trying to build a house together." She then went on to encourage other couples that they "don’t need to prove anything to anybody. Your engagement is about your love. Use that money on your future, not your finger."
The outspoken Challenge star felt the need to call out these trolls who were shaming her for not having an over-the-top ring. Fans can watch The Challenge couple get engaged on the newest season set to premiere later this month. The stars are excited to get married, and Tori thinks that's what the engagement should be about - not how much the ring costs.
The Challenge:War of the Worlds premieres August 28 on MTV.
