On The Challenge: Spies, Lies & Allies, Fessy Shafaat recently broke one of the strongest alliances the show has ever seen, and his fellow veterans should attempt to get him eliminated in return. The season 37 veteran alliance changed the game and was working out well for the vets. However, Fessy threw it all away over a personal vendetta. If the other veterans want to salvage what’s left of their alliance, they need to get rid of Fessy.

Throughout The Challenge history, rookies have always been targets. Veterans send them into elimination because they need to earn their stripes and because they’re easy to pick off. However, on Spies, Lies & Allies, the veterans have banded together like never before. For three episodes, the vets sent rookies home in pairs, week after week. The veteran alliance allowed vets to control the game. According to Josh Martinez, it was a pact formed before season 37 even started. Everything was smooth sailing for the vets until Fessy screwed it all up.

House vote Corey Lay pitched himself as a potential ally to daily challenge winner Fessy, provided the vet would send in rookies that Corey thought he and Michele Fitzgerald could beat (Hughie Maughan and Bettina Buchanan). It would have been a prudent investment in his future game, but Fessy threw a curveball and sent in rookie and fellow Big Brother alum Amber Borzotra. Amber and her partner Josh were furious, and it was Amber’s rage that led her and Hughie to victory in elimination. Now that Amber is back in the house, Fessy is beginning to realize what a monumental mistake he made.

Fessy Shafaat on The Challenge

Many fans have called Fessy the worst Challenge competitor ever, and this shortsighted decision is proving them right. Josh almost came to blows with Fessy over his decision to throw Amber under the bus, and he’s not wrong to be upset. The veteran alliance was successful and the vets were systematically picking off rookies one-by-one. Fessy’s selfish move threatened all of that. If the veterans are smart, they’ll band together to get rid of Fessy and then reestablish the veteran alliance. They could then send more rookies home before turning on each other.

The veteran alliance on The Challenge: Spies, Lies & Allies hangs in the balance. If Fessy stays in the game unchecked, then other veterans will be tempted to break the alliance. If Fessy is sent home, the alliance can continue. Until he can improve his political game, Fessy will never be one of the top Challenge competitors of all time. If Fessy can’t stick to the strongest and easiest alliance the show has seen, then he can’t stick to any alliance and is worthless to any other vet. The remaining veterans should send Fessy packing the first chance they get so they can continue to dominate the game.
