Warning: SPOILERS for chapter #113 of Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man finally introduces a new member of the Four Horsemen: Famine. This group is composed of four powerful Devils, Control, War, Famine, and Death, who have unique powers and a personal relationship with the protagonist of the series, the Chainsaw Devil. The third member, Famine, introduces herself as the 'big sister' of War, and reveals her identity in chapter #113, promising to make Chainsaw Man's life even more difficult.

The main antagonist of Part 1 of Chainsaw Man was the Control Devil in her incarnation as Makima, while the War Devil was introduced as a villain in Part 2 as Yoru. The group is obviously inspired by the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse of Christian mythology, but they have a unique role in the story of Chainsaw Man. Like every other Devil, each of the Four Horsemen embodies a concept that humans fear, and they are among the most powerful Devils in the world of Chainsaw Man, possibly on par with the mighty Primal Fears.

In chapter #113 of Chainsaw Man, Denji is visiting the aquarium on a date with Asa. Unbeknownst to Denji, the War Devil Yoru resurrected Asa after her untimely death and inhabits her body, turning her into the War Fiend but leaving half of Asa's brain intact, thus creating the first living fiend. Yoru wants to use Asa to root out and kill Chainsaw Man, but to do that she has to use the War Devil's unique ability to create a powerful weapon from something or someone that Asa cares about. Believing that Asa is unable to kill Denji and turn him into a weapon, the Famine Devil, calling herself Fami, makes a sudden and unexpected appearance and traps Asa and Denji inside the returning Eternity Devil, hoping that, faced with starvation, Asa will overcome her moral boundaries and kill Denji.

The Famine Devil Could Be Chainsaw Man's Biggest Villain

The Four Horsemen all have a grudge against Chainsaw Man because, according to Makima's story, they all fought against him several times in hell, finally injuring Pochita enough to force him to flee to Earth, where he met Denji. The Horsemen are also the only individuals who still remember the names of the Devils devoured by Chainsaw Man, which is why Yoru wants to make him throw up the Nuclear Weapons Devil and revive him, to reinforce humanity's fear of war. However, it is still unclear what Famine's goal is, as Yoru looks actually scared of her. The Control Devil wanted to use Chainsaw Man to kill the other Horsemen, so it's clear that the group is not cohesive, despite sometimes working together. Considering that the War Devil is currently in a weakened state, Famine could be the biggest villain of Part 2 of Chainsaw Man.

There are still a lot of mysteries waiting to be explained in Chainsaw Man, and many of them seem to lead to the Four Horsemen and their past with the Chainsaw Devil. It's still unclear if Famine wants to kill Chainsaw Man too or if she has other plans, nor if she is aware of Denji's true identity of if her real target was Asa. Famine also wears earrings shaped like the distinctive chainsaw cord popping out of Denji's chest, so she could have an even deeper connection with Pochita. The one certain thing is that, considering how powerful the Four Horsemen are, if Yoru and Famine work together, Chainsaw Man is about to face the biggest challenge of his life.
