Fans are looking forward to finding out who will win Celebrity Big Brother season 3 and how much money he or she will make from the grand prize. The overall Big Brother franchise has always been tentative when it comes to how much money it rewards its contestants. Since the very first American edition of Big Brother on CBS, the houseguests competed for a chance to win a grand prize of $500,000.

Alas, no changes are expected for the grand prize of Celebrity Big Brother season 3, which is still a fairly new spinoff for CBS. Just like CBB1 and CBB2, the winner of CBB3 will earn a grand prize of $250,000. The prize is obviously much lower than the regular seasons of Big Brother given that these are very different shows. A regular BB season usually takes place for 100 days, while a season of CBB only lasts a month. There's also the factor that CBB has a cast full of celebrities that are looking for more exposure rather than money. Meanwhile, the famous contestants on CBB are already reportedly paid $100,000 just for being cast on the show.
In the past, the payment structure of Celebrity Big Brother has unfortunately had certain negative impacts on the overall dynamic and pacing of the show. Given that the famous houseguests are already paid a reported $100,000 just to enter the Big Brother house, some of them don't bother playing the game as hard as anonymous players do in regular seasons. For many of them, the risk of looking like evil characters on a TV show is much bigger than playing nice and letting things happen throughout the season. In the end, earning a reported initial salary of $100,000 on CBB is already high enough for certain celebrities who don't want to fight that hard to potentially win $250,000.
Hopefully, the Celebrity Big Brother season 3 cast members will give fans a great show to watch by playing the game and doing their best. Seasons of CBB are typically very interesting for different reasons. However, it would be great to watch these famous contestants doing their best to get to the end and win the $250,000 grand prize.
