Chris Kattan was announced as a Celebrity Big Brother contestant in the upcoming season, and fans of Saturday Night Live were thrilled to hear the news. Chris is a 51-year-old actor, comedian, and author who was born in Culver City, California. Chris' father Kip King was an original member of The Groundlings comedy troupe in Los Angeles, which Chris later joined. After appearing in minor roles on a few sitcoms in the mid-1990s, including Grace Under Fire and NewsRadio, Chris moved to New York City in 1996 to join the cast of Saturday Night Live. During his run on the show, he created legendary and recurring characters, such as Mr. Peepers, Mango, and Azrael Abyss. He once impersonated his soon-to-be Celebrity Big Brother housemate, Chris Kirkpatrick from *NSYNC.

In 2009, Chris starred as himself in a musical comedy miniseries called Bollywood Hero, which aired on the Independent Film Channel. According to IMDb, in the series, he is a comedian who travels to Mumbai to become a leading man in Bollywood, after burning bridges in Hollywood. He also appeared on shows such as The Middle and How I Met Your Mother. In 2017, Chris appeared on Dancing With the Stars season 24 and was paired with professional dancer, Witney Carson. However, unfortunately, he was the first dancer to be eliminated. The judges had critiqued his stiff upper body movements, which Chris attributed to the neck injury that he sustained during a Saturday Night Live sketch in 2001.

One of the biggest obstacles he may face while on Celebrity Big Brother might be this neck injury, which he wrote about in his 2019 memoir, Baby, Don't Hurt Me: Stories and Scars from Saturday Night Live. Chris revealed that he broke his neck during a Golden Girls parody that he performed on Saturday Night Live on May 12, 2001. During the skit, he threw himself backward on a chair, after pretending to choke on a piece of cheesecake. He kept the injury to himself and continued to work until the end of the season, fearing for his career and not wanting to miss a show. He delayed his much-needed surgery. NBC eventually paid for two of the five surgeries that Chris required. Unfortunately, he became addicted to the pain medication that he was prescribed after his fourth surgery and said that it was the reason for his 2014 DUI arrest.

Chris tends to keep his personal life quiet, but there are some details about who he has dated in the past. In the late 90s and early 00s, he briefly dated actresses such as Jennifer Gimenez, Jennifer Coolidge, and Maya Rudolph. He married model and actress Sunshine Deia Tutt on June 28, 2008, after a few years of dating. However, the marriage was short-lived, as they separated on August 10, 2008, and got divorced in February 2009, citing irreconcilable differences. In late 2019, Chris dated Cheyenne Gordon. They may no longer be together because, in August 2021, Chris appeared on The Celebrity Dating Game, and chose to go on a date with Tiffany King, a psychic medium from Texas. She had immediately identified him in the first round.

According to his Instagram account, Chris is now starring in a new comedy shorts series, HEY, KATTAN!, which airs on YouTube. He has also been performing live stand-up comedy. In December 2021, he performed his most recent show called Vets of SNL, featuring Chris, Jon Lovitz, Tim Meadows, and Finesse Mitchell. Now that he has entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, Chris will be cut off from the outside world, but fans will be able to watch his every move. His social skills may help him to excel in the game.
