The Disney theme parks are often branded as the 'Happiest Place On Earth' and they're definitely one of the most popular family holiday destinations (and the most crowded!). It's no surprise, then, that even celebrities love to head to the Disney Parks for some wholesome fun - which means that visitors might spot a famous face, as well as a Princess or two.

However, while visitors might be focusing on looking around trying to find the A-list stars, the people who are actually working there could just be the next blockbuster name. Throughout the years, there have been many celebrities who actually started out working in the Disney theme parks doing a variety of roles people would never have thought about.

Kevin Costner

Kevin Costner is a brilliant actor who is arguably best known for playing the character of Robin Hood. However, he is also a former cast member at the Disneyland resort in California, where he just so happened to work on one of the most iconic rides of all time.

Costner was a skipper on the legendary Jungle Cruise ride, which is soon to have its own movie based on it featuring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. It's easy to see how a budding young actor would enjoy working on that attraction as well, as it does require a lot of personality, confidence, and acting ability.

Audiences may remember Michelle Pfeiffer rocking the costume to play DC's Catwoman, but that is far from the only time she's portrayed an iconic character. The popular actress took on her first iconic character years before, as one of the people who played a character in the Disneyland resort.

One of the most exciting things about heading to a Disney theme park is having the chance to meet the classic Disney characters, and many people will have met Michelle during her time working for the company. She played Alice, from Alice In Wonderland during her spell with the company.

It isn't just in Disneyland California where celebrities have worked for the Disney company, because Wayne Brady worked for them in the Florida resort. Much like Michelle Pfeiffer, Wayne portrayed a Disney character, only he was hidden underneath a costume.

He played the energetic Tigger during his time with the company which was an eventful time in his life. He passed out from the heat during a parade and actually ended up being fired from his job after an incident with one of the higher-ups at the company, who was rude to him while playing the role led to an issue that cost him his job.

Kevin Richardson

Kevin Richardson is best known for being a member of the Backstreet Boys, having created some classic songs that are known all around the world. However, he got his start working at Disneyland, but he wasn't a member of a show doing something music-related.

No, he also played a character in the parks as he portrayed of Aladdin. Kevin would meet guests, sign autographs and take photos, all while being one of Disney's most popular princes.

Richard Carpenter

Speaking of famous people within the music world, they don't come much bigger than The Carpenters, and Richard Carpenter is someone else who used to work at the Disney resort. However, unlike Kevin Richardson, he wasn't playing a character and his role was to do with music, which seems more fitting.

Richard was actually a piano player on Main Street U.S.A., which is a big role within the parks. This is an iconic spot and the music they play is something that tourists will often stop and enjoy, and when Richard Carpenter is playing the keys, you know it's going to sound incredible.

To make this role even more special, Joanna actually played the part in the popular Main Street Electrical Parade, being part of the incredible nighttime show that would go through the park for audiences to enjoy.

John Lasseter

John Lasseter ended up having a huge role within the Disney company, working as the Chief Creative Officer for the company, having directed some classic Pixar movies including Toy Story and Cars. He is currently head of animation for Skydance Media and is another former Disney theme park employee.

John is another ex-skipper, having worked on the Jungle Cruise during his early years. It's what clearly brought him his love for the Disney company and creates a huge history between himself and the company, which went on to last for a long time.

He would sell guidebooks and make balloon animals for the younger guests, performing magic tricks for people who were on holiday there. Martin has continued to dabble in magic since this point, but a lot of what he learned started at Disneyland.

Taye Diggs

Disney has resorts all around the world, and celebrities have been popping up as former employees in many of those destinations. One celeb who worked for Disney outside of America is Taye Diggs, as he actually worked at the Tokyo Disneyland resort back in 1995.

He was working for the company as a dancer, where he would perform in Sebastian's Caribbean Carnival, showcasing all of his charisma and talent by entertaining the guests with his dance moves.
