Catwoman may have the secret to eternal life in the palm of her hand, but she's got more pressing problems to solve in her solo comic series.
Since putting Batman and Gotham City behind her and moving to Villa Hermosa, Selina Kyle has faced off against the villainous Raina Creel, a self-made (through murder) millionaire who is as determined as any of Gotham's rogues to spread her political influence through her son, Raymond. But it's the son she LOST that has put her on Selina's trail, and that chase turns bloody in our preview of Catwoman #13. It only takes the first pages of the issue to see that befriending Catwoman can come at a price...
The previous issue left fans in suspense, after Catwoman completed her job (with help from forger James Thien) only to find the Creels have kidnapped her friend Carlos's aunt. Catwoman #13 kicks off with Selina leaping into action and a search for the innocent hostage. It means good news for fans hoping to see Batman and Catwoman reunite for their solo series that Selina seems to end her flirtations with James... in admittedly harsh fashion. But jts bad news for fans of Carlos, as the Creels take the opportunity to come for him, too, now that Selina has left the picture. Here's hoping she doesn't stray too far--or that James has been keeping his own martial arts skills a secret until such a perfect chance presented itself.
Take a look at the preview pages below:
The preview shows that the stakes are rising to a crescendo along with this story, but the issue will also be giving Selina her own chapter in DC's larger Year of The Villain. Fans are safe to assume that Lex Luthor's offer to embrace her villainy stands a poorer chance with Selina than most of the other villains he'll be meeting. But that's just one more reason to catch the full issue when it arrives this Wednesday. Read on for the full solicitation information for Catwoman #13 below:

- Things have come to a head for Selina Kyle in Villa Hermosa. Between taking care of her sister and contending with all the crooks who cross her path looking to give her some bad luck, it’s enough to make a Catwoman go bad herself. So maybe she will? “Come now, Selina. Still playing the hero? Stop pretending you’re something you’re not.” It’s Lex Luthor’s words versus Catwoman’s will in this chapter of “The Offer”!
Catwoman #13 will be available at your local comic book shop on July 10th, or direct from DC Comics.
