A new Catwoman cosplay brings the DC Comics' Knightmare costume - as seen in Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice - to life. Selina Kyle's Knightmare outfit is stunning in Adi Rodrigues' cosplay photograph, which uses a background similar to the scene where Batman is shown in his Knightmare costume. The cosplay is beautiful, even though this outfit isn't one of Catwoman's most popular looks.
Batman #33 from 2017 showed the titular hero and Catwoman in Knightmare outfits as they traverse the deserts of the Middle East to reach the country of Khadym. This issue has the creative team of Tom King, Joëlle Jones, Hordie Bellaire, and Clayton Cowles. The issue occurs shortly after Bruce proposes to Selina with the two seeking out Talia al Ghul.
In the cosplay, shared on Twitter, Adi Rodrigues cites Tom King and Joëlle Jones as inspiration sources - alluding to Batman #33. The editing for the photo is credited to Jason Hahn (whose Instagram name is included in the tweet) and the photo was taken by @ErikaCosplay. The cowl was done by Alter Ego Studios, which is based in Dubai. This is a gorgeous cosplay that replicates the look from the comic beautifully, making it look like it COULD be a part of the infamous Snyder Cut of Justice League.
This cosplay from Adi Rodrigues successfully blends Catwoman's classic costume elements with her Knightmare additions - just like the original comic issue. The cowl incorporates the red-tinted goggles and is left unlatched - a detail included in Batman #33. She also has Catwoman's signature weapon in hand, which the villainess uses against the Guard in the Desert. This foe was appointed by the Justice League of America to prevent anyone from gaining access into Khadym. As might be expected, Catwoman makes rather quick work of him. This outfit also features a corseted bodice, baggy khaki pants, and an additional grayish-tan cloak piece that rests around Catwoman's shoulders and upper body.
Catwoman is a popular cosplay choice, but her traditional catsuit is usually the outfit of choice. There are numerous options available for fans of Selina Kyle and her iconic comic style. However, her Knightmare outfit is a very fun look that pairs very well with Batman's. The dark knight's Knightmare suit debuted in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 and was seen in the comic that inspired this cosplay. The suit has since had some nods and alterations in other DC Comics, such as Batman: The Detective #1 from earlier in 2021. The Knightmare costume is here to stay and it's only fitting that Catwoman's version comes to life also - even if it hasn't hit the big screen as of yet. Selina definitely deserves to have her cinematic moment in the sun; her wardrobe is huge and with cosplays like this one from Adi Rodrigues, there's no question it would look as fabulous as Batman's Knightmare costume introduced by Zack Snyder.
