Cubone is a Pokemon that has been in the series since the very beginning. Trainers were able to find a Cubone and its evolved form Marowak while exploring the Kanto region of Pokemon Red & Blue. The Cubone story is a tragic one, as once the mother passes away, the baby will take on its skull and use it as a helmet to memorialize her. Marowak was even given an Alolan form to build on this idea, as its typing changes it into a Fire and Ghost-type. Several Pokemon have made a trip to the Galar region through the Isle of Armor DLC. This guide will help players in finding and capturing a Cubone.

Where To Find Cubone in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Players will need the Isle of Armor DLC from the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass in order to find the Cubone. Another method of obtaining one in the game is by having a Cubone already present in Pokemon Home and transferring it over to the newest game. Players can find the Cubone while exploring the Warm-Up Tunnel. Cubone will appear in the overworld during any type of weather. Although it may take a while, as Cubone only has a 16% chance of appearing in the overworld. Once the player finds it, it will be level 60, so bring along a Pokemon with Hypnosis or Sleep Powder to put it to sleep, making it easier to capture. Using a Quick Ball on the first time is also a great way to make the capture.

Cubone is 1 of over 100 Pokemon that have made their debut in the Galar region through the Isle of Armor. An additional 100 set of Pokemon will release with the second half of the expansion pass, the Crown Tundra. This half of the DLC is scheduled to release later this Fall and will include another new wild area to explore and new Pokemon to capture. This marks the first time in series history where a mainline title has been given a paid DLC. This is an excellent reason to boot up the game again to explore new and exciting areas of the Galar region.
