The new game Castle Flipper is a Medieval twist on House Flipper's signature gameplay, allowing players to not only renovate castles but build their own structures as well. Castle Flipper is being developed by Pyramid Games, a Polish studio known for previous releases such as Rover Mechanic Simulator and Occupy Mars. Over recent years, Steam has been home to a massive influx of big-budget simulator games, seeing indie and AAA developers of all backgrounds releasing simulators for every niche. From renovating homes in House Flipper to ripping spaceships apart in Hardspace: Shipbreaker to soaring through the skies in Microsoft Flight Simulator, there has been no shortage of simulators to fit the rising demand for the genre.

Pyramid Games is no stranger to the genre, with their entire Steam catalog comprised of different simulation games. Most of these titles are just demos for currently unreleased games, such as Dinosaur Fossil Hunter and Zookeeper, leaving some to wonder how much time and work will be put into each full release. The demos for games like Occupy Mars have been positively received according to their Steam review scores so it appears that the quantity isn't affecting the team's work.

According to a press release for the game, in the upcoming Castle Flipper the player starts off as a medieval renovator who inherits a piece of land. The job will see players carry out orders from their clients, doing tasks like cleaning and furnishing on a variety of medieval structures using the unlockable tools at your disposal. When not on the job for someone else, players can use their hard-earned money on their own land, building their own structures to develop the land however they want. This feature is a step up from House Flipper's gameplay loop, which only allows for basic building and structural changes, incomparable to building and designing your own structures from scratch on a large plot of land. A release trailer from Ultimate Games S.A. shows off some of this gameplay for Castle Flipper.

Jacek Wyszyński, CEO at Pyramid Games S.A. has given comment on this much-anticipated building system, stating, "the game also features architectural solutions known from the Baroque and Renaissance period, which opens even more possibilities." In addition, the relaxing pace of play "also features elements stimulating the players’ creativity. We have developed, among others, a proprietary freebuilding system that allows you to freely create a variety of structures." Another feature talked about in the press release and shown off in the game's trailer is the ability to put your own structures up for rent, giving incentive for players to use their money to build on their own land instead of just doing tasks or flipping properties.

With the release date for the game right around the corner, releasing the day of writing this article, fans will soon be able to get their hands on the full release of the anticipated building and renovation sim. Castle Flipper will be available for purchase on May 26 on Steam, with other platform releases following either this year or the next. For those who are on the fence about buying the game, a free demo is also available to try it before buying. If the launch goes well, this will mark another success story in the recent rise of casual and simulator games, following and building off of other big games in the simulator genre.
