The new ad for Carolina Herrera’s “Bad Boy” fragrance features a couple of familiar faces, including Karlie Kloss, but who’s the actor leading the video? It’s not surprising to see various well-known actors collaborating with multiple brands, especially those related to fashion. For years, actors and actresses have been at the front and center of various fashion campaigns for fragrances, make-up, clothing, and more, so it’s pretty common now to turn around and see a big ad with a renowned celebrity next to the name of a famous fashion brand.

Some memorable examples are Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron, and Johnny Depp’s campaigns with Christian Dior; Chris Hemsworth and Jamie Dornan for Hugo Boss; and Liv Tyler and Rooney Mara for Givenchy. One of the biggest names in the world of fashion (and also entertainment, as these two worlds collide quite often) is Carolina Herrera, which enlisted two familiar faces for the campaign of its newest fragrance for men, “Bad Boy”.

Ed Skrein Is The New Face of Carolina Herrera’s Bad Boy

Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Ed Skrein

Ed Skrein is the star of Carolina Herrera’s "Bad Boy" ad. Skrein is an English actor and model who began his career in the entertainment industry as a rapper. In 2007 he released his first album, The Eat Up, and has collaborated with various artists from the genre. His last music work was the EP Scene Stealers, released in 2009. He made his acting debut in 2008 in Plan B’s short film Michelle, and got his first lead role in the crime drama Ill Manors, also directed by Plan B. He was later cast as Daario Naharis in the third season of Game of Thrones but was replaced by Michiel Huisman in the fourth season. In 2014, he replaced Jason Statham in The Transporter: Refueled, which was panned by critics (but did very well at the box office).

His big break came in 2016 when he played Ajax, the lead villain in Tim Miller’s Deadpool, which opened many more doors for him. Two years later, he starred in the psychological thriller In Darkness. Skrein was set to join the Hellboy reboot as Ben Daimio, a Japanese-American character, but dropped out after all the controversy over his casting, saying he was stepping down in hopes that the role could be cast appropriately – Daniel Dae Kim was later cast in the role. He has also appeared in If Beale Street Could Talk, Alita: Battle Angel, and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. His most recent role was in Roland Emmerich’s Midway as Lieutenant Richard “Dick” Best. The Carolina Herrera ad is an extra push in Skrein’s career, and you can expect to see him in more projects in the near future – and not just fashion ads.
