My 600-lb Life season 8 brother and sister duo Carlton and Shantel Oglesby had a lot of success on their weight loss journey, and it is time to find out if they were able to continue with the program. Carlton and Shantel had been overweight since childhood and reached a breaking point when they became nearly immobile. They moved from Columbus, Ohio, to Houston, Texas, to seek help from the renowned bariatric surgeon, Younan Nowzaradan, known as Dr. Now. The My 600-lb Life stars were not alone on their journey with Dr. Now, as Shantel was joined by her husband and three children, while Carlton's girlfriend Monica accompanied him.
Carlton and Monica had met online and talked for a year before meeting in person. They met just one day before they began the trip to Houston. When Carlton and Shantel's My 600-lb Life episode aired, he weighed 786 pounds, and she weighed nearly 640 pounds. My 600-lb Life's Dr. Now put them on a strict diet and exercise regimen to help them to qualify for weight loss surgery. At the end of the episode, after six months, Carlton had lost 243 pounds, and Shantel was down 215 pounds. However, have they been able to keep up with their weight loss?

Shantel has a YouTube channel called Shantel Sheds the Weight. The description states that the channel is "filled with Love, Support, Weight loss, and Business." Shantel shares that she is "working on my spiritual and physical self. I am on a journey and changing my life for the better. I will be sharing my journey with you and helping others in the process." Shantel's latest Facebook update on her account, 600 Pound Transformation Shantel, was August 23, 2022, and the My 600-Lb Life star seemed to be keeping up with her weight loss. Although Carlton's Instagram page hasn't been updated since 2020, his bio reads, "Just Trying my Best. Living a Healthy Life."
My 600-Lb Life's Shantel Started Her Own Business
Shantel's personal Instagram page asks her followers to support her beauty line Boujee Besties Beauty. Shantel's business Facebook page also advertises her products, including body scrubs and sunglasses. She also sells self-defense items that are perfect for anyone on the go. The bio for the business states that they have shipped over 5.6K orders.
My 600-Lb Life's Carlton Got Engaged To Monica
My 600-Lb Life stars Carlton and Monica are now engaged several years after appearing on the hit TLC series. Carlton's Facebook profile picture was updated on July 2, 2022, with a photograph of him and Monica holding hands. On top of the My 600-lb Life stars hand includes a note that reads, "She said yes."
Shantel and Carlton had an inspiring experience on My 600-Lb Life. They were able to get help from Dr. Now before it was too late. Their support for each other and their family members was beautiful as they worked together to improve their lives. Carlton and Shantel's journey will be remembered for a long time.
