Jude Law reveals Captain Marvel's elite Kree team known as Starforce have been working together for 15 years. Although the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a solo movie for Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), the 90s-set space epic is also set to expand the cosmic side of the mega franchise.

When Captain Marvel begins, Carol already has her powers but does not have a memory of her life on Earth. Instead, she is a fearless member of an elite special forces team of Kree called Starforce. The squad is led by Jude Law and his mysterious character, but the team is much more expansive. While audiences will first get to see the team in action during Captain Marvel, it was previously unclear how long they have been operating and serving the Kree empire.

Screen Rant had the opportunity to visit the set of Captain Marvel and speak to various people involved. One of those individuals was Jude Law and it came after seeing a scene of him leading the Starforce on a mission. A point of interest was how long the team has been working together, and Law revealed, "It's been about 15 years." He also discussed the members of the team that join Carol and the roles they serve.

I can talk about Djimon, Korath, who appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy. Obviously this is a few years before, so young Korath, he's second in command. Minerva played by Gemma Chan is a sniper and long range specialist. We have Bron Char who is basically a blue giant played by Rune Temte from Norway. Al Gennis plays Atlas another Sniper expert or weapons specialist, have I left anyone out? No, me, that's it, it's very elite there's only six of us.

Carol Danvers leads Starforce in Captain Marvel movie.

Now, Law saying that the team has been working together for 15 years could be quite a surprising length, depending on what iteration he is talking about. The Starforce presumably have been a unit prior to Carol joining them, so this span likely is referring to the total amount of time they've been operating. Otherwise, this would mean that Carol was originally rescued by the Kree back in 1980 since the bulk of the movie takes place in 1995. If the majority of the team has been together for 15 years though, they should operate with precision and like a well-oiled machine. However, this could make Carol even more of an outsider with her Kree teammates as she tries to fit in to her new life.

The Starforce have not been a major focus of the film's marketing so far, but they will clearly play an important role in Captain Marvel. Recently revealed merchandise showed the team assembled, which, coupled with Law's description of the team, confirms that Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) is not counted among their members. As the marketing campaign enters its final stages, it will be fascinating to see how much more of the Starforce scenes Captain Marvel's TV spots show.
