Captain Marvel Movie Images Reveal Starforce, Young Fury & More

Get the first look at Skrulls, Starforce, and more in new Captain Marvel images. Brie Larson is set to become the first female to lead a Marvel Cinematic Universe film, but Marvel hadn't revealed much about the film - until today. They kicked things off with the first official look at Larson in her Captain Marvel suit, but they clearly aren't stopping there. The release of this image was promised with future reveals coming all week long.

EW is the home to the breaking news for Captain Marvel, which already included the reveal that this isn't an origin story for Carol Danvers. The film will instead take place primarily in space (where Carol is when the film begins), as she's paired up with an elite group of Kree fighters. This group and much more are now revealed in new images.

EW released several new images for Captain Marvel, that reveal a ton of new details about the film. The photos feature first looks at several major characters for the film, and even confirm some plot details too. Check out the photos below!

Marvel Studios' CAPTAIN MARVEL L to R: Leader of Starforce (Jude Law), Ronan (Lee Pace), Korath (Djimon Hounsou), Att-Lass (Algenis Perez Soto), Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Bron-Char (Rune Temte) and Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan)

Sticking with the Kree warriors Carol's joined, they are known as Starforce. As seen in the three pictures below, the team is led by Jude Law's mysterious commander. Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) looks to be his right hand man, but Carol is walking the team towards them. The rest of the Starforce members are Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou) and Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan). There's also Rune Temte and Algenis Perez Soto, but their roles are not confirmed.

Marvel Studios' CAPTAIN MARVEL Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson)

When Carol isn't off in space with Starforce, she will be back on Earth and meeting a familiar (but younger) face to MCU fans. In the two images below, Carol can be seen rocking an early S.H.I.E.L.D. hat, when in the next image she's face to face with Samuel L. Jackson's digitally de-aged young Nick Fury with two eyes - even though a scar is above the one he ultimately loses. Whatever happened or will happen, the de-aging tech Marvel is using looks terrific.

Two additional photos were also released of Larson checking out one of the jets Carol is known for flying in her pre-superhero days. However, the big piece of information comes with a photo of Lashana Lynch. She's shown below in a jet all her own, with the name Maria 'Photon' Rambeau on it. This reveals that she is playing the mother to fellow Captain Marvel and constant friend of Carol, Monica Rambeau. In the comics, Monica goes by the name Photon for a brief period of time, but since it is her mom's call tag as a pilot, that could be the source of inspiration for her own superhero name should Monica be introduced and gain powers.

Marvel Studios' CAPTAIN MARVEL L to R: Director Ryan Fleck, Ben Mendelsohn, and Director Anna Boden on set

The last photos for Captain Marvel show off Ben Mendelsohn as the film's villain Talos. He is the leader of the shapeshifting race known as the Skrulls, and his various looks can be seen in these photos. Mendelsohn is pictured on the left in the first photo in the traditional Skrull look, but can then be seen with directors Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden portraying a human. With so many details already revealed for Captain Marvel, the movie is finally starting to become clear.
