Captain Marvel Coming To Disney Parks With #HigherFurtherFaster Campaign

Captain Marvel Poster Cropped

Captain Marvel is heading to theaters in a few months, but the character will also soon be heading to Disney Parks around the world. Captain Marvel has been around since the late '60s, but this year, the character will be featured in her first ever live-action movie with Brie Larson in the role of Carol Danvers.

Ever since Disney bought Marvel Studios, they have been working on implementing characters and settings from the superhero genre into their parks. Disney has huge plans to include more Marvel-based theme park attractions, which will be in addition to their already popular Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout ride. The Iron Man Experience has already hit Disneyland Hong Kong, but an entirely new Marvel-themed land will be replacing the long-running A Bug's Land at Disney's California Adventure. Many superheroes are expected to get their own theme park attraction, including Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man, but Captain Marvel will be one of the newer characters that fans can actually encounter within the parks.

According to the official Disney Parks Blog, fans can encounter Captain Marvel as early as next week on their Disney Cruise Line, before the character heads to Disney California Adventure, Disneyland Paris, and Shanghai Disney Resort. The introduction of the character to the parks ties in with their #HigherFurtherFaster campaign, as well as the release of Captain Marvel merchandise and tie-in material, which recently began to roll out. While a Marvel-themed area is coming soon, that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the renovations Disney has done in recent years. In the past few years, Disney has unveiled Pandora – The World of Avatar inside of Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Disney also unveiled Toy Story Land in 2018. Disney is even developing a Star Wars theme park called Star Wars: Galaxy's Edgewhich will open its doors this year.

When it comes to Disney theme parks, fans have a lot of attractions to choose from and look forward to. That being said, for many kids, getting to meet cast members dressed up as their favorite characters can be the highlight of their entire trip. With the popularity that Captain Marvel will likely get upon the film's release, it seems like a no-brainer that Disney would give fans the opportunity to have a meet and greet with the superhero.
