Many fans were shocked and delighted when some of the Avengers showed up on the screen in the first post-credits scene of Captain Marvel. With so many questions about what will actually happen in Avengers: Endgame, fans are looking for any and every clue, and the reveal in Captain Marvel was quite a big one. This scene, as well as many other moments from Captain Marvel, give a lot of hints and prepare fans for what will, or possibly will, happen in Endgame.

Here are 10 of the ways that Captain Marvel prepared fans for what to possibly expect in Avengers: Endgame.

ESTABLISHES THAT NEW VILLAINS ARE LIKELY COMING

As many have speculated already, there will likely be new villains, or the return of old villains, in Endgame. While Thanos is clearly powerful and will still play a big role, it’s likely that Endgame will add other antagonists to the roster to keep things interesting.

The Supreme Intelligence and the Accusers are likely candidates to be going up against the Avengers, and Captain Marvel hints at this.

THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS MIGHT NOT BE WHAT WE EXPECT

Many fans expected Captain Marvel to join the Avengers much later on, but she clearly joins early. This is just one hint to the fact that what happens in Endgame might not be what we expect. There are many theories out there, and the majority of them will be wrong while only a select few will be correct. The post-credits scene was a good reminder to fans to expect the unexpected when it comes to Endgame.

THE TESSERACT(OR SPACE STONE) HAS A CONNECTION TO CAPTAIN MARVEL

The tesseract has been in multiple Marvel movies and has a long history in the MCU. This Infinity Stone also has a connection to Captain Marvel as we learned in the movie. This could give some hint or indication that she will be instrumental in helping to destroy the Infinity Stones, or at least give a clue to her connection to the MCU as a whole.

CAPTAIN MARVEL IS POWERFUL AND WILL LIKELY BE INSTRUMENTAL

It was already known that Captain Marvel would be one of the most powerful beings in the MCU, and her movie let us see that up close.

At the end of the film when she is able to exhibit the extent of her powers, we see her do amazing things such as easily destroy warheads and spaceships. She can fly, has photon beams, and is extremely strong. The fact that she’s so strong will be a big aid to the Avengers going forward and will likely help tip the scales. This is very much needed after the Avengers are at such a weak point right now.

CAPTAIN MARVEL WILL BE HELPING THE AVENGERS EARLIER THAN WE THOUGHT

The biggest reveal with that post-credits scene is that Captain Marvel is going to be around the Avengers way earlier on than suspected. Based on the hair cuts and look of people like Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff, Carol Danvers makes her appearance and answers the pager pretty early on.

Captain Marvel won’t need to be introduced in Endgame as she’s already been somewhat introduced to the Avengers already.

CAPTAIN AMERICA AND THE OTHER AVENGERS ARE TRYING TO PICK UP THE PIECES

While this is somewhat obvious, the post-credits scene gave us more insight into what some of the Avengers are doing in the wake of Thanos.

It looks like they are trying to find allies and figure out what they could possibly do next. They didn’t even know what the pager did but trusted that Nick Fury would point them in some sort of direction that they should follow.

THINGS ARE LIKELY TO GET A LOT WORSE BEFORE THEY GET BETTER

Since Captain Marvel is so powerful, something has to be done to tip the scales again. To make the movie exiting and to top what happened in Infinity War, it’s likely that there will be a lot of villains and a lot at stake. It makes sense that things will continue to get more dire for our favorite heroes before they possibly get better.

MORE ALIENS AND SPACE MOMENTS ARE LIKELY ON THE WAY

Space has played a big role in many Marvel movies, and Captain Marvel is no exception.

With her connection to the Kree, Skrulls, and space, we are even more likely to see more of the galaxy with her around. Captain Marvel definitely hinted to fans that they can expect to see new and old aliens returning to the screen for this final Avengers film. How everything will play out, however, is still unknown. But, it’s very likely that some characters such as Kree, Skrulls, and more will end up returning.

CAPTAIN MARVEL COULD EASILY RESCUE TONY STARK AND NEBULA

Another big question fans have about Endgame is what will happen to Tony Stark and Nebula since they are in space in need of being rescued. Fans are also wondering if or when Tony will reunite with the other Avengers for that big cinematic moment. Since Captain Marvel is in the picture, it would be pretty simple it seems for her to fly up and reduce TonY and Nebula. We’ve seen that she can go up into space pretty easily and travel quickly, so this would make the most sense.

THE TIMELINE MIGHT SKIP FORWARD RIGHT AWAY

A big question about Endgame is time travel and how the timeline will go. There has been talk, even from those involved in creating the film, that Endgame will jump ahead a few years. Since Captain Marvel has already been introduced, this time jump could occur at the very beginning of Endgame.
