UPDATE: Read our detailed explanation of Captain Marvel's end-credits scenes here!

Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel is the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - but does it have an after-credits scene setting up future movies and, if so, how many? Captain Marvel is the 21st entry in the MCU, which marked its 10th anniversary last year. The film, starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, is also the last before Avengers: Endgame wraps up Phase 3. Additionally, Endgame will conclude the story of the MCU thus far, making it a massive event for Marvel fans. As such, viewers may be keeping their eyes peeled in Captain Marvel looking for clues about Endgame.

For its part, Captain Marvel is the first solo female-led film in the MCU and the first to be co-directed by a woman, with Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck at the helm. The movie introduces fans to Carol Danvers, the pilot turned superhero who will be a key figure in the MCU in Phase 4 and beyond. She'll team up with MCU favorite Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in a story that also touches on the Kree-Skrull War from the Marvel Comics. But, as is the case for any Marvel Studios movie, the film doesn't necessarily end when the credits start to roll.

Now that Captain Marvel is hitting theaters around the world, fans may be wondering whether the movie has any credits scenes and, if so, how many are included. Captain Marvel has TWO after-credits scenes, one at the mid-credits point, and another at the very end. To avoid spoilers, we won't reveal what the credits scenes entail, but fans who want to catch all the Captain Marvel post-credits scenes will want to stick around to the very end.

That said, in what has become typical Marvel Studios practice, the first Captain Marvel credits scene is the one that is more important to the larger MCU story going forward. The second Captain Marvel credits scene is more of a fun gag - though it's arguable the scene does provide one piece of key info for Marvel fans who are incredibly interested in the MCU. While it's always good to watch the credits to appreciate who was involved in the making that film, in the case of Captain Marvel, the mid-credits scene is a much more important tease for the MCU's future than the after-credits scene.

Again, we won't reveal what these teasers entail to avoid spoiling fans who haven't seen the movie yet - but look out for our Captain Marvel post-credits scene explained post to dive into what they mean. However, fans will next get to see Captain Marvel in Avengers: Endgame. Last year's Avengers: Infinity War ended with Thanos using the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe out half of all life in the universe. But, before he was turned to dust, Nick Fury managed to page Captain Marvel, confirming her arrival for the next Avengers movie. So fans who enjoyed Captain Marvel won't have to wait much longer before she returns to the MCU in this spring's Avengers: Endgame. For now, though, all fans need to know is there are two Captain Marvel credits scenes to stick around and watch.
