Captain America (Chris Evans) successfully inserted himself in a hilarious photo with the rest of his Avenger pals. As the MCU continues to evolve, more and more new characters are being introduced. And while franchise expansion is a normal part of world-building, sometimes, it's still best to look back at how the now successful film series began and the group of people that have been there from the start. Seeing the original six Avengers members all come together for a goofy snap was a real treat for fans, before the heroes face their greatest foe yet in Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

Despite appearing in different Marvel projects in the last few years, fans really haven't seen the group together in a film since Avengers: Age of Ultron. Thor and Hulk went on their space adventure in Thor: Ragnarok, while Stark and Rogers butted heads in Captain America: Civil War alongside Natasha and Clint. As all MCU roads lead to the upcoming Joe and Anthony Russo-directed flick, all of them will finally reunite, unfortunately, it won't be under better circumstances.

Robert Downey Jr. took to his official Facebook account to share a group photo with his original Avengers members. But while he, Scarlett Johannson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner were all strutting their best poses, Evans seemed to have suddenly just jumped in the frame, explaining why he was a bit blurred behind and not huddled in with the group making for a funny picture. Some even jokingly said that it's Stark's revenge on Rogers for ditching and lying to him in  Civil War. Check it out below.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the photo was taken recently. Instead, it appears that it was snapped almost three years ago while the cast was promoting Age of Ultron. It's hard to decipher given the shot doesn't really show their costumes, but Johannson's hair and top indicate that it could be from the time they visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about the 2015  film. Nonetheless, the pic definitely caused people to be nostalgic given that these actors are the pillars of the now massive Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With the star-studded 10th Anniversary Photoshoot back in October, it's curious if the original Avengers had a special shoot with just them considering that all six members were on location during the event. Perhaps a special snap too with director Joss Whedon who helmed the first two superhero ensemble films for the MCU. If that was not the case, that's fine. In a month, press for Avengers: Infinity War will finally roll out anyway and we could only presume that each one of them will be doing the rounds promoting the film. They might even visit Jimmy Kimmel Live! again for a special interview, this time, with a slew of other A-listers who are also set to appear in the upcoming Marvel blockbuster.
