The Marvel Cinematic Universe has introduced fans to a slew of phenomenal films since it began in 2008, and it is hard to choose a universal best, with so many delivering above and beyond. However, there is no doubt that the character with the best trilogy is Captain America, with many seeing Captain America: Civil War as the best of the three, and one of the best of the MCU overall.
The movie sees a great collection of heroes come together in the divide between Iron Man and Captain America in what is pretty much Avengers 2 1/2 rather than a straight-up Cap movie. With so many characters, it is hard to give some characters the screen time they deserve, while others get their fair share.
Least - Howard Stark (1:45)
Howard Stark was a revered scientist, engineer, inventor, businessman, owner of Stark Industries, a government ally, the creator of Captain America as we know him, and the father of the heart of the MCU, Tony Stark. He has pretty much done it all.
In this film, the heartbreaking fate of Stark gets revealed, as Tony watches a clip of Bucky Barnes, brainwashed, of course, intercepting a vehicle containing Tony's parents before killing them, something Steve Rodgers was aware of, leading to the epic fight between the three.
Most - T'Challa/Black Panther (11:30)
Civil War marks the debut of T'Challa, better known as Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before his fantastic solo movie two years later. He leaves an impression on his debut and is a highlight of a phenomenal film.
In the movie, T'Challa is on the side of Tony Stark, in that he supported the Sokovia Accords after innocent Wakandans died due to the Avengers' battles. T'Challa's role in the film primarily revolves around his hunting Bucky Barnes, up until the big fight at Leipzig-Halle airport.
Least - King T'Chaka (1:30)
But why was T'Challa dead set on hunting down Bucky Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier? When fans first get introduced to T'Challa, he is not the King of Wakanda, his father is.
T'Chaka is at the United Nations in Vienna, giving a speech on the Sokovia Accords and Wakandan history before a terrorist attack, performed by Helmut Zemo disguised as the Winter Soldier, kills T'Chaka.
Most - Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (12:00)
At the start of the MCU, there were no good female heroes who got in on the action except for Natasha Romanoff, better known as Black Widow, who was a constant badass.
In this film, despite being a good friend to Steve Rodgers and understanding Rodgers' hesitation to sign the accords, she was on the side of Tony Stark and fought with him when the battle ensued.
Least - Everett Ross (1:15)
The MCU is littered with agents, officers, and officials who work with and for various organizations, whether they be security, intelligence, or political, especially in this period pre-Thanos and post-Avengers destruction.
Everett Ross, played by Martin Freeman, is a CIA agent who worked with Thaddeus Ross to monitor and regulate the Avengers following the Sokovia Accords, butting heads with Steve Rodgers in the process in his limited time in this film.
Most - Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (22:00)
Speaking of the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes is a character who is the source of so much conflict in this film, with his shock killing of Tony Stark's parents and Steve Rodger's refusal to sign the Sokovia Accords.
Bucky is both the hunter and the hunted in this film, as he races against time to find Helmut Zemo, all while Tony Stark, T'Challa, and others look for not just him, but Steve and the rest of that team too, which all leads back to the epic climactic airport battle, between two epic teams.
Least - May Parker (1:00)
Civil War marked the appearance of perhaps the most complicated Marvel movie hero in terms of behind the scenes goings-on, Spider-Man, in a role that got everyone even more excited about this movie pre-release.
Peter Parker did not come alone in this movie, though. Instead, he brought with him Marrisa Tomei in the role of Aunt May, an inclusion that has gotten many excited, not least of all Happy Hogan.
Most - Tony Stark/Iron Man (37:15)
This entire movie is fought from two sides, one on the side of Captain America, who believes that the Sokovia Accords should not be enforced nor signed by the Avengers, and the other side with Iron Man, who says the opposite.
This movie is an emotional one for Tony, considering he finds out the true fate of his parents and that Steve knew about it. That epic final stretch of this film between the airport fight and the two-on-one between Cap, Bucky, and Tony is prime MCU, and, as usual, Tony is right there at the heart.
Least - Ayo (0:30)
Like how Peter Parker did not come alone in his debut, T'Challa did not come himself either, bringing with him Ayo in this instance, who briefly appears in a movie brimming with fantastic characters.
Ayo is second in command of the Dora Milaje elite enforcers who protect the Golden Tribe and Wakanda. Here, she only appears briefly, and there can be no more time given to her, given everything else going on.
Most - Steve Rogers/Captain America (38:15)
Of course, the titular character of the movie will be the one getting the most screen time, although if there were a movie that could defy that, it would be this considering it acts as an Avengers movie a lot of the time.
The Marvel fandom had many opinions about the entire crux of this film, the Sokovia Accords, and many fans sided with, and remain loyal to Cap's cause in the movie. Even with the mistakes he may make, he remains a good-hearted hero and a phenomenal character consistently throughout the Infinity Saga.
