The latest data shows the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War was the biggest of the year - and Cap's new beard was the most talked-about part. For months now, fans have been eagerly anticipated one of the biggest developments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Captain America growing a beard. After the disappointment of Justice League being forced to remove Henry Cavill's mustache and the God of Thunder's golden locks being shorn for Thor: Ragnarok, comic book fans are eager for something new.

This summer, the first inkling of an all-new, all-different Cap came when the poster for Avengers: Infinity War proved that life on the run came with a stunning new crop of facial hair for Steve Rogers. From talk show hosts to comic book heroes, the beard has long been a way to showcase that the straits are dire and the road has been hard. After the events of Captain America: Civil War, fans knew it wouldn't be easy for Steve and his Secret Avengers to continue to operate outside of the Sokovia Accords. However, just as Steve promised Tony, the Avengers: Infinity War trailer showed that Captain America will always be there when he's needed.

Fizziology (per THR) is reporting that the numbers are in for the Avengers: Infinity War trailer's impact on Twitter. During the first seven hours that the teaser was online, it garnered 1,147,438 mentions on the social media giant, well ahead of films like Black Panther and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. As for the most talked-about moment in the film, that easily went to Captain America's beard, with 20,474 mentions.

Captain America Beard in Avengers Infinity War Trailer

Following the now iconic moment of Steve Rogers stepping out of the shadows somehow more handsome than when we last saw him, Peter Parker's Spidey-sense pulled in 6,100 mentions. The reveal of the Guardians of the Galaxy gained 5,497 mentions, while T'Challa's order to "Get this man a shield" brought in 2,180. Rounding things out was the moment of Cap's team charging into battle at the end, which garnered 2,108 mentions.

Though it's only been a year since fans last saw Captain America in action, he clearly won the Infinity War trailer. Despite Spider-Man's new costume, Thanos' laundry day attire, and the return of the Hulkbuster, fans couldn't get enough of Cap. From his facial hair to his heroism in the face of danger to his potential reunion with a Vibranium shield, Steve Rogers continues to reign supreme in the MCU.

With fans complaining about Thanos' casual look in the trailer, it's clear what Avengers: Infinity War needs to do - give the Mad Titan a beard.
