A new Captain America: New World Order set photo shows off the first look at Danny Ramirez's return as Joaquin Torres. First appearing in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ramirez's character was set up as the potential replacement for Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson, who recently put aside his days as the Falcon in order to take on the mantle of Captain America. Now, new photos reveal Ramirez and Mackie on the set of New World Order.Just days after the first photos of Anthony Mackie filming Captain America 4 surfaced online, a new set of images recently posted by LRGang Productions on Instagram reveal Ramirez working alongside his co-star. Check out the set photos below:

In the Captain America: New World Order set photos, Mackie and Ramirez are seen exiting a diner in character, before apparently going separate ways. The final two photos show Ramirez alone, adopting a more somber look than in the previous shots, perhaps indicating a tense turn in the scene's tone after Torres and Wilson part ways. In addition to Ramirez, Shira Haas was photographed on the set of Captain America 4, as posted on Twitter by Hollywood Pipeline. She plays Marvel hero Sabra.

What To Expect From The Falcon In Captain America: New World Order

Danny Ramirez as Jaoquin Torres in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Despite his return in Captain America: New World Order, little is yet known about Joaquin Torres's role therein, or what his future may be in the MCU. However, recent photos posted by the MCU actor show off Ramirez's superhero physique, implying he will take a more action-heavy role than in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which featured only brief action scenes for his character. In fact, now that Sam Wilson has officially adopted the Captain America mantle, New World Order could see Torres take his place as the Falcon, as was the case in the comics.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier certainly hinted at Torres taking over the mantle from Sam Wilson, setting up the relationship between the two characters in the Disney+ series. In an age where many new characters are stepping into the alter-egos of older MCU heroes, it makes sense for the franchise to make Torres the new Falcon in the wake of his predecessor's promotion. Whether Torres's Falcon will come with an upgrade remains to be seen, however, as certain comic book iterations of the character include special superpowers that haven't yet been introduced in the MCU.

Captain America 4 could also reveal Joaquin Torres's role in the future of the MCU. As the franchise stretches out into new and exciting territory, the new Falcon could have a place on one of the many superhero teams therein. With his partner confirmed to have a major part in the next Avengers lineup, Torres could find himself inducted into Earth's Mightiest Heroes, setting up his return in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Conversely, Captain America: New World Order may elect to take its new Falcon in a different direction, which won't be revealed until the film finally hits theaters next May.
