Everyone has a personal favorite Capcom character—or, in many cases, characters. Keeping in mind that Capcom has been responsible for popularizing hundreds of characters in an incredible variety of videogames, there is a character that suits almost anyone.

But, each one has their own distinct personality, which includes hobbies, interests, and quirks. This means that some of them would be amazing to spend time with... but, others, not so much. On the upside, even if those characters aren't the nicest or even tolerable to be around, they would, at the very least, still be interesting.

Jerk: Ryu

Ryu throwing a fireball

If the Street Fighter franchise could be said to have a main protagonist and a hero, that person is Ryu. His journey through the underlying narrative that runs through the games is the driving force for much of what has happened over the decades.

While Ryu is an impressive fighter, he doesn't seem like someone that would be fun to hang out with. He's a pretty intense guy, and, if he goes full Evil Ryu, the best call is to get out of there as soon as humanly possible.

Cool: Jill Valentine

Few people have done more to fight bioterrorism in the world of Resident Evil than Jill Valentine. In fact, she was one of the co-founders of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, an organization that she remains a Special Operations Agent with.

Valentine has spent years of her life fighting Umbrella and trying to deal with all of their shenanigans. She's definitely someone to have around in a fight. It's always nice to have a friend who can keep people alive when a city is overrun by science experiments gone wrong.

Jerk: Albert Wesker

When it comes to choosing sides in the fight against bioterrorism in Resident Evil for Albert Wesker, there only side that matters is his side. He has pretty much worked for everyone in the war, including both supporting and betraying Umbrella.

The reality is that Wesker is obnoxious, arrogant, and excruciating to spend time with. Unless absolutely necessary, he should be avoided at all costs for those reasons. The fact that he wants to exterminate humanity probably is a good reason to steer clear, too.

Cool: Chun-Li

Chun-Li is ready to fight

Chun-Li is not someone to be messed with. She could literally kick someone's teeth down their throat 30 times before that person even knew what was happening. But fighting isn't her entire life.

She is as skilled and devoted as Ryu, yet still makes time in her life for other pursuits. One of her favorite hobbies is hunting M. Bison, though that's not something all of her friends could jump in on. Regardless, Chun-Li would at least make time to have a cup of coffee once in a while.

Jerk: Dr. Wily

Mega Man beating Dr. Wily

If there's one truth of the Mega Man franchise, it's that Dr. Albert W. Wily is a complete and utter jerk. For a long time, he was the main antagonist of the series. And why did he become evil? Because he was jealous of Mega Man's creator, Dr. Thomas Light.

The fact that being jealous of another scientist was enough to drive him to create an endless string of Robot Masters to fight Mega Man shows why people should not hang around with him. Any perceived slight could be enough to have him send his new Pizza Man after someone.

Cool: Dante

Dante looks menacing

Devil May Cry seems like a rough world to live in. Constant demon invasions would make it nearly impossible to get anything done. Fortunately, Dante is around to handle these absurd situations.

Dante looks like a pretty cool guy to spend time with. When he isn't thwarting demon invasions, he's probably the kind of person who knows how to relax. It would only make sense given how tough his day job is.

Jerk: M. Bison

Ryu Street Fighter

When the words "megalomaniac" and "dictator" can be used to describe someone's personality, there's a good chance that this is a person who would not make a good friend. That is definitely true of M. Bison and is the reason why Ryu and company are always after him.

He's a business first kind of guy, and his business is generally criminal in nature and mostly focused on world domination. Plus, the "M" stands for "Master." Anyone who refers to themselves as Master Bison is not going to be a good movie buddy.

Cool: Amaterasu

Amaterasu is stunning

Introduced in Ōkami, Amaterasu has become a fan favorite character over the years. Based on a Japanese goddess of the same name, Amaterasu is a mystical white wolf with incredible abilities.

First and foremost, being able to spend time with a mystical white wolf just seems awesome. But even better is the fact that Amaterasu is quite emotive and communicative. If she gets bored of what someone is saying, she'll just go sleep and that's adorable.

Jerk: Morrigan Aensland

Morrigan Aensland winning

The Darkstalkers franchise has been one of the most interesting game series around. It's a fighting game franchise featuring classic monsters re-imagined for the modern era. That's where Morrigan Aensland comes in.

Morrigan is the main protagonist in Darkstalkers and a bit of an anti-hero. She is also a succubus who was born in the late 1600s, but Morrigan is a dangerous being who just barely chooses to do the right thing in most circumstances.

Awesome: Mega Man

Ryu and Mega Man together

Not surprisingly, Mega Man is the main protagonist of the Mega Man franchise. He debuted in the first game in 1987 and has never looked back. Mega Man has become one of the most recognizable video game characters in the world.

The fighting robot comes across as a genuine, reliable individual. Mega Man is also a little reminiscent of Astroboy, another robot who would be incredible to hang out with.
